why are gamers like this when they play a multiplayer game?
>>750217932Heh, classic scissor butthurt.
>>750217932because I'm the only person that matters
There's tension between players who want to have fun and players who only want to win
>>750217932Why are gamers like that when they play singleplayer games?hurrdurr you didn't beat the game
If you're good at the game you can beat rock noobs as a pro scissor
>>750218160This is a solved problemDevs simply choose not to implement the fix
>>750217932Because they're self-centered low-intelligence dipshits. What did you think the answer was?
>>750218160>winning isnt fun
>>750218285No amount of skill can make a scout beat a noob engi in tf2.
>>750218425Unfortunately the economics make this a bad idea despite it being the optimal solution for end users. To have this kind of user self-sorting you need to either waste a lot of server capacity and massively slow down matchmaking or let anyone run their own server and neither is acceptable anymore.Matchmaking time is a primary metric for game publishers and letting server code run on a machine an end user can inspect is a non-starter.
>>750219890Corner peaking with the pistol then running in to meatshot the engineer in confusion is something I do all the time to gibus players.
>>750220149I hate the fact that this is true despite user servers being the life blood of old games and is the reason why something like Quake which is 30 years old still gets people playing death match.
>>750218425>>750220149and this is why I still play tf2community servers >>>> any official garboshit
>>750217932this is like in ff14 back in 2.0 when people who played black mage would cosplay as ice mages and only use their low damage blizzard spells
I like when people have fun
>>750218425>host bans all the weapons and items he doesn't personally like>giant list of rules you have to agree to before you can play>stop for a moment, "wahhhh camping!" >banned>outskill the host, "wahhhh hacking!">banned
>>750218425this is a good post, thanks anon. i remember seeing crybabies in league whine about losing because they weren't having fun any more because they were getting demolished. it's almost as if the high stress environment of a ranked match is what makes the game fun.. something to consider is that the "fun" crowd has a gamemode for them already: unranked/normal. but because a lot of people believe themselves to be the main character, they can't handle losing with grace (and therefore not being the main character).
>>750224717You choose the server you join
Bump.
>>750217932It's especially bad in fighting games where theorists will explicitly use the rock-paper-scissors metaphor to describe the metagame, yet counter-picking is frowned upon by hardcore players, and people who choose to only ever play one character are celebrated more for losing in semi-finals than the actual winner of the tournament who used a top tier. So much for "playing to win".
>>750217932These are the same person, ignoring both of them is the best course of action.
Competitive games taught me that no, winning on its own ISNT fun.The more I sought the win, the less rewarding it became. playing to lose, to crab became more fun than winning itself and thats when I stopped playing.
>>750217932I merely become uncounterable.
