I don't want "everyone here". Genuinely think Smash needs a bit of an identity reset, Ultimate was supposed to be the "Ultimate celebration of gaming history", and I think it did a pretty good job, so I don't think it needs to stuff more shit in and try to surpass it. My controversial idea is that the new game should focus more on the present/future of gaming, bunch of old characters should be updated to more accurately reflect their current state. And I think my most controversial suggestion would be to unironically cull any character that has not had or been in a major game in the last ten or fifteen years. Yes, that means a bunch of legacy characters are gone, that means some of the original twelve are gone, that's fine. It's a really, really easy way to cut the roster and do it an non-biased way which then also leads to the game having a fresh identity. On top of that, Nintendo could easily drum up hype with marketing by double dipping on people's disappointment by announcing a new game for some dead franchise, meaning a cut character could potentially come back too. It's the easiest fucking decision.
