Technically some Rancors can spawn in fun areas to fight like Mordria Fault or the area with avalanche ice shelves. Which is fun in its own right but I would have preferred if they had a final Lost Rites mystery dungeon where you get random restrictions and level layouts.

DD2 is really a slow-paced tactical game with fast-paced-options for action gamers.You really have to think on the timescale of minutes similar to RTS, and not frames like in other action games.Frames in DD2 only let you do stuff like perfect dodge, or perfect block, or perfectly timed attacks for specific skills.Frame-based options are a secondary kind of feature that other games would make front-and-center.In that sense it's paradoxically much slower than Monster Hunter, yet much faster than Dark Souls. Somewhat akin to Metal Gear Online and Vindictus.In most games, you see something, you fight it. That would take like four seconds maximum to start dealing DPS as a melee.In DD2, you see something, you try fighting it, it gets mad at you. you now have to break the next 40 minutes into manageable chunks just to fight it.If you want to reach the weak point as a melee to do some DPS you have to commit about 2 minutes to climbing it.Getting halfway takes 30 seconds, and then the monster is flailing adding more time. Each flail adds like 8 more 'seconds' and not frames.Enduring that you reach a weak point in about a minute and 12 seconds, let's say. You're out of stamina. Should have brought stamina potions.You packed some harspud roborant or something, so now you're up there, dealing damage, the monster gets mad, and grabs you.The grab is like a 30 second unskippable animation. If it kills you, did you bring Wakestones? No? you have to redo the whole fight.It's a very punishing game disguised as a sequel to something that played almost unrecognizable to how this game plays.In DD1 you see something, you try fighting it. You realize you deal no damage, you come back later.When you come back with the "correct gear" you just DPS it down like a hack 'n' slash.
