I don't like new vegas but it's clearly better than 3 and 4. Though I must admit 3 has fallout 1 like vibes. But only 1 and 2 are truly rpg and fallout games. 3 and 4 focus mainly on exploration and combat (the combat is garbage in both of these games but the exploration is quite good especially in fallout 3 but it gets boring after a while since everything looks the same) and new vegas tries to combine fallout 1 and 2 elements with fallout 3 and fails at everything

A lot of people are saying 1 is better than 2 but I disagree. The amount of shit you can do in 2 is straight up unprecedented, I know 1 has a tighter story but there’s no literal mob wars, porn studios, vault city, I don’t think you can become a slaver in 1, getting a car, etc etc. I appreciate the breadth of Fallout 2 as being almost simulatory in terms of the amount of things you can choose to participate in.
Modded NV is one of the best video game experiences ever made and I am not kidding
