And if you don’t give a shit about wave dash length or whatever, just hold down A+S and press jump -> air dodge in sequence. Getting a feel for the start up frames of your shorthop will directly help you with your wavedash timings

I rec buying GCC and the adapter, you can play other GCC games witht he combo so why not.But if you wanna be cracked and learn KB and not go to locals etc. then its quite a grind.Alternative controllers are good if you wanna learn them but people rather focus on GCC most of the time as Melee was built around analog inputs etc.But who knows, you might get absolutely cracked even if the learning curve is kinda hard. Tutorials exist for proper layouts and such so do check them. And consider "slower" character first and clear Adventure and Break the Targets few times, and beat up CPUs until you get the general vibe of the controls and it comes naturally without thinking what to press.And do your hand stretches.
