What’s the non meme reason they shoehorned Yasuke in here? I feel like it would have sold better if it was just the foid

Billions of niggers. jews are banking on them.

ubisoft has long been wanting a solo female AC game but common sense says no, it wont sell.
So they thought they would be sneaky and say, "well if we're forced to include a male character then we'll make him a negro, that will make the chuds extra mad!" (this decision was made at the height of the Floyd overdose hysteria in 2020)
Fortunately for us, when you get woke, you go broke, and tencent has since bought ubisoft

Only the Nigger wanted to be in a game focused on killing Japanese. I couldn't respect anyone who wanted to model for protagonist in, "that" game...and I don't rule the Niggers. A nigger was totally fine modeling for protagonist. Because the Japs are kinda poor, or else not in control of the intellectual property, a Nigger ended up just getting to be the protagonist.

Yes, this is basically just one long game so that the creative leads for AC can beat out the Ubisoft executives, who laugh in the face at the idea of a female AC game selling
>Syndicate comes out, players prefer Caleb
>Odyssey and Valhalla both have a pickable femc that is canon, but barely any players actually use the femc and the male character gets to be on the boxart
>But both protagonists of the past 2 games are noted for being bland due to their self-insert nature
>Shadows comes out, goes back to having set characters like Syndicate. But the male character is made entirely unappealing to the core audience
So the plan must have been that for the next AC game, the leads could say "having a choice doesn't work, and when we are forced to include a male protagonist everyone hates him. please let us make the protag female!". And apparently the next game is rumored to have a sole female protagonist, so it worked

They knew for years that if the series was ever in trouble, they had Japan as a guaranteed slam dunk because it was always the most requested place.
Then, for some reason, after releasing a rather popular Assassin's Creed, they decided to break the glass, not to save the franchise, but to ensure a hit when they pushed an agenda. I'm sure they looked up every criticism of representation in Japanese period games before starting work on Shadows, and the biggest one that came up was race, despite the fact that besides the odd Dutch trader, the entire island was one race. They then got the guy who wrote the book on Yasuke on the horn, and one modern development cycle later they had what we got. The warning signs that people were going to dislike the game got ignored because the game was way too far into development for them to course correct, and they wanted to grab what remained of the audience that Ghost of Tsushima had attracted.
What's weird is that at least from at least what I've seen, there's a bunch of cutscenes that seem low quality, especially the crossover with Attack on Titan and the homo kiss scene. You think they'd put their A game if they wanted to ensure it wasn't a flop.

they probably added him in during that
>yasuke is real111!
meme era, not realising that they're sabotaging their break in case of emergency game
now ubisoft is going bankrupt and half owned by the chinese

>non meme reason
I don't know what that means other then "give me the answer but NO NO not the right one". But the only ones that make sense is either someone was trying to prop up a fake history, there were individuals at ubisoft that wanted to push it for "representation", it was downstream of a DEI mandate (which is real), it was spite, or ubisoft is just really out of touch and is in an anachronistic world of it's own that doesn't reflect the world at large, and so their ideas of what's cool to people are warped.

I can't think of anything other than those at all. It's most likely a combination of some of those.

ùnironically the new ubisoft don't do basic screening
they just picked up some sperg screeching aobut h9ow the negro was a 'hero' in japan and said 'mhmmm they claim to be an expert so they do be the expert yo'

It really is funny that Ubisoft were in such dire straits that they finally had to pull the trigger on their "in case of bankruptcy" game, only to immediately shoot themselves in the foot with it.
Wonder if they'll try for the WWII Asscreed game that fans also wanted back in the day, they'd probably fuck that up too

>I don't know what that means other then "give me the answer but NO NO not the right one".
He's probably fishing to a reason that sounds plausible enough to repeat elsewhere as the 'real' reason they put him there.
>>
>>750241083
Yeah I remember one of the main devs saying Japan was the “in case of emergency”‘setting
>>
>>750238416
A normal Japan Asscreed would easily sell 25m copies
They're just a bunch of fucking retards
>>
>>750244123
No, it won't. Medieval Japan is a boring setting for an asscreed.
>>
All meming aside,

Yasuke would have been better as the protagonist, Naoe was a fucking wet towel of a character.
>>
>>750238416
It's not about the money, it's about sending a message.

Probably trying to stand out. Every other samurai game is about Japanese people and a generic game in Japan is gonna draw comparisons to Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro, and it's dangerous to draw comparisons to big hits like that. A black samurai is exotic enough that there was a series called Afro Samurai where that was the whole premise, and it drew attention just for that fact alone. It's just that they're in a bubble where they're surrounded by "diversity", so there was no way for them to predict negative reactions from the public at large
