In case you were wondering how this all happened:>Anthem and DA Inquisition started development after Mass Effect 3>Mass Effect spinoff handed to a smaller B team>DA Inquisition releases, wins GOTY>Bioware main team wanted to make Dragon Age 4 afterwards>however, Mass Effect Andromeda is floundering behind the scenes>EA forces DA4 devs to save Andromeda>it couldn't be saved without a restart, but EA forced it to be pushed out into market regardless of quality>Anthem development is going nowhere>EA canceled Dragon Age 4 so Bioware could focus on Anthem>Anthem spent 7 years in dev hell because management didn't know what the fuck to do with it and EA wanted live service>Anthem releases, it fucking sucks>Dragon Age 4 development restarts, but EA told them to make it live service>Dragon Age 4 is now in development hell>The success of Respawn's Jedi Fallen Order forces EA to remove all live-service shit from Dragon Age 4>Bioware released what they could with Dragon Age Veilguard as another restart would've been the only way to salvage it>Saudia Arabia and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, buy EA>they both begin tearing it all down to pay off debt and maximize all profits>naturally, Bioware is now kill>EA to focus on Gun and Ball games going forward
so just back to back bad decisions and bad management from all directions
>>750239735Yeah it's all the same bad decisions we knew were going on behind the scenes. EA hates their development teams so they have everything rushed out on a schedule regardless of it's shit or not, and then they kill off the studio. Bioware and DICE only lasted this long coasting off of major successes. When you don't vet the "talent" you're bringing in and just assume hiring to fill quotas and government requirements is the way to go, you end up in this position where your company is completely filled with dogshit slow workers, terrible lack of self control when it comes to forcing modern day politics regardless of narrative consistency, and the inevitable death of all your successful IPs when none of the new people get it and all the veterans seem to be mind broken.
>>750239315I remember in 2009-2010 after playing DA: Origins and Mass Effect 1/2, BioWare was my absolute god tier studio on the level of old Blizzard. Sad how it went. I need to go and replay the ME Trilogy.
