I boughted a chink controller with TMR sticks the other day and while I appreciate the increased precision in first person shooters, the response curve is a bit odd despite my specific controller having a very linear response curve. This makes small adjustments very twitchy and difficult. Anyone noticed something similar?
>>750251664Reminder that every other controller is obsolete now that picrel exists.
>>750252340It needs a keyboard attachment for desktop mode. At the moment an Xbox controller with a keyboard is still better for browsing the web in bed.
>>750253489>It needs a keyboard attachment for desktop mode.It has the trackpads which are 80% as good and also work as a mouse and scrollwheel.>At the moment an Xbox controller with a keyboard is still better for browsing the web in bed.No it's not since it doesn't have any kind of mouse control. You have to slowly cope with the sticks.
>>750254680In desktop mode on the 'eck you can map the joysticks to the mouse and scroll wheel. It isn't as good as the trackpads, but it is usable. Having to use an onscreen keyboard is actually unusable, though.
>>750254762>In desktop mode on the 'eck you can map the joysticks to the mouse and scroll wheelI know, but using the sticks for that is miserable.>Having to use an onscreen keyboard is actually unusable, though. It's not a normal on screen keyboard in the sense that you slowly select letters one by one. You move your fingers on the trackpads and then click the triggers to select. It's faster than you think. Of course, it's not as fast as a real keyboard, but neither is the keypad attachment. And this is just about desktop mode. The SC is much better for games than the xbox.

>>750252340Unless you absolutely needs touchpads this one is gets mogged by every chinkshit at the same pricerange or even lower.>>750251664Which did you buy?
>>750255846The sticks aren't miserable, they're fine. You put the mouse cursor on the left and scroll on the right and it works well.I know, I have used the keyboard like that on the Deck itself, but it sucks to use it that way. On screen keyboards are just a shit idea in general.
>>750256070>Unless you absolutely needs touchpadsI in fact do.>>750256297>You put the mouse cursor on the left and scroll on the right and it works well.It really doesn't. Sticks simply can't compete with the accuracy of mouse/trackpad/gyro.>but it sucks to use it that way. It's fine for typing short strings. Obviously not as good as a real keyboard, but it's fine. Definitely better than having to use sticks for mouse control.
i don't care I ONLY USE GAMESIR controllersthey are THE BEST
>>750257943>It really doesn't.It does once you actually dial in the sensitivity. SteamOS's default sucks, but once you get it right its works well enough that you don't have to think about it. >It's fine for typing short strings. Not really if you scale the display since there is no official way to change the size of the on screen keyboard. So it usually ends up blocking what you're typing. This wouldn't be an issue usually but the on screen keyboard isn't reliable either and will ignore inputs sometimes. Using that is way worse than controlling the cursor with the sticks.
>>750258128>It does once you actually dial in the sensitivity. There's a reason controllers need aim assist or gyro/trackpads to be competitive with mouse. Sticks simply aren't precise enough to be comfortably used for pointing. Either you'll constantly be overshooting what you're trying to click or you set it so low it takes ages to get the cursor anywhere. I'm sure you can do it, but that doesn't mean it'll work well.Of course, that applies to the trackpad keyboard to some extent as well, but the gap between trackpads and sticks is much bigger than the one between the trackpad keyboard and the keypad.>So it usually ends up blocking what you're typingThere's a button to move it.>the on screen keyboard isn't reliable either and will ignore inputs sometimes.I've never had that issue with it.
>>750260776>Sticks simply aren't precise enough to be comfortably used for pointingMaybe you just aren't very dextrous. I don't have any trouble with it and it is only a little more difficult to control than the trackball I use on my PC. >There's a button to move it.It only has two locations and depending on screen scaling they aren't that different.
