So he decided to throw his most powerful attack at him. Goku was able to redirect back at him but after struggling for a good minute, sending Cooler into space. Afterwards Goku is completely out of juice and collapses on the ground. Meanwhile Cooler is tanking his attack and is pissed off he can't get off it. Luckily the sun was in the attacks flight path. If he was able to get off his own attack he would of just flown back to earth and curb stomp Goku.
