SMGs have low recoil and are viable at medium ranges, while assault rifles are too accurate when hip firing and have basically no recoil at longer ranges, especially with right attachments. Add to that controllerfags who have less recoil by design and you basically feel like you can be beamed by anyone at any range, the game punishes you for simply attempting to move, which leads to timmies camping like crazy.
