Thank God I dodged the oled bullet and went for miniled instead, this is such a scam and I curse everyone recommending it

IPS + Mini LED GODS stay winning
>>750261220the clock is ticking... I'll give you one year tops
>>750261132Two months? This version was released not even 1 week ago
>>750261132>>750261662Loool it's not even the rog ally x20, it's just a reddit thread from 100 years ago.Fucking killyourself op to post old shit
>>750261132Has he tried turning off his monitor a couples of hours and going to sleep?
>running oled + ips 4 years strong no burn inLmao niggers
I like TN's>fast, cheap, colors don't matter, viewing angles does not matter.
>>750261132I wonder if I should be worried because I have that exact same monitor, but I've had mine for about six months now. I have no burn-in, so clearly that redditor did something wrong or he has bad luck. I actually don't even do the pixel cleaning and ignore it because it's annoying. I do turn my computer off each night, and it turns itself off if it idles too long.
>>750261662That post is from a year ago and I have that same monitor. It's been on the market for well over a year.
>>750261872OLEDs do pixel cleaning on their own. This is why you should not disconnect the power once you turn it off.
>>750261821Same anon. Also refresh rate go brrrr haha
Having to do pixel refresh every 4 hours is made-up bullshit, you can let the monitor handle it whenever you step away from the PC for a while and that's good enough. The pixel refresh only helps to get rid of temporary image retention, meaning it won't do shit to prevent actual burn-in.I've had my current OLED monitor (Gigabyte MO27Q2) for about 18 months and the only time it does pixel refreshes is basically whenever I go to bed and put the PC to sleep, and I only have half of the other protections enabled (mainly pixel shift really) and I still haven't noticed literally any burn-in. Of course there's other issues with it, being a budget panel - the main one being that at certain shades of grey I can just barely make out vertical stripes which appears to be a manufacturing defect common to OLED screens and gives the image a slight dirty screen effect occasionally - but I'm at the point now where I'm not even really trying to prevent burn-in like I was initially and it's still fine.Frankly I want more attention given to that goddamned striping instead of burn-in, though at least it's something that you'll notice straight out of the box unlike burn-in which may or may not develop at all depending on panel quality and usage patterns.
>>750262467>Frankly I want more attention given to that goddamned striping instead of burn-inJust don't buy WOLED with WRGB subpixel structure, also with higher refresh-rates it's more visible. If you get this on QD-OLED return it because it's a faulty unit.QD-OLEDs have other downsides but maybe those won't be a deal breaker for you.
>>750262467I thought oled owner only watch black?
People that say OLED is fine are gamer dads that play 2 to 4 hours a day at most
>>750262853OLED users are winner at lifeNeet losers can stick to their grey IPS and blurry VA
>>750261317>Mini LEDJust shy of 2-year use btw
>>750263271>MO34WQC2 years and still going strong.
I have this shitty $50 Acer monitor that I keep going back to because every time I try buying an actual high end monitor it always just fucking dies in under a year. This things been going strong almost 15 years with no issues.
Turn monitor off - 2 minPixel Shift - onNow you can enjoy the monitor well past it's life expectancy
I have a 65 inch OLED that I've used as a computer monitor for 12,000 hours over a 3 year 5 month window.I do have burn in, actually, due to having a bookmarks bar on my web browser. I shuffled them a few times over the years but it wasn't enough. However, it's completely invisible outside of color tests where the entire screen is a solid red/green/blue.Mixed usage, but ultimately a lot that involved having my google chrome window open for an average of 4 or more hours a day.I still would recommend it. What I've done to it is practically abuse and the damage isn't visible at all in regular use.I think too many people speak to this issue without having the proper experience to demonstrate exactly what the limits of this tech are.OLED burn in is real but there are lots of things you can do to mitigate. I removed my bookmarks bar and I'll probably not see more burn in until the browser tabs finally get me at 20,000+ hours.
>go into store>random 50 bucks monitor>hell yeah>14 years without issues and will work another 14 with no issuesYou suckers are like piggybanks to (((them)))Stop buying garbage
I wanted to buy mini led but 1000 zones does not sound goodAll the high zone models are stuck in China or incredibly expensive
>>750263774>Pixel Shift - onFuck that, it's annoying.
HDR is a meme.
>>750261132>Another IPoorfagS thread againi'm so fucking sick of this shit
>>750264018HDR done on a proper panel is awesome.
>>750262726From what I've read it's a problem with both WOLED and QD-OLED, but much less likely (and pronounced when it happens) on QD-OLED for the most part. Personally it wasn't enough of a deal-breaker for me to bother trying the RMA lottery, especially given that it was an online purchase and I'd have been out of a decent usable monitor in the meantime. Of course if I had dead pixels out of the box or burn-in within the first month that'd be a different story.
I seem to be the only person in the world that enjoys VA panels the most.I'm addicted to the deep blacks and zero backlight bleed, smearing is somewhat noticeable when scrolling through text heavy pages but i got used to it.
>>750264173QC is simply not there despite how much money those monitors cost.In the past we had dead pixels and backlight bleed as main issues now we have banding and uniformity problems. With OLEDs it also takes some time for your display to settle but it also can get worse, firmware updates can also fix some of the issues. I'm YouroPoor so it's not even RMA for me I have two weeks to return anything bought online, it's still a hassle if you want to play the panel lottery.
>>750264018OLED is an even bigger meme
>>750263958Only on movies but yeah you can have it off, just having the pc blank the monitor to black after a few min is fine.
I just got an 85 inch RGB MiniLED and it blows the fuck out of OLED and I will never have burn in.
>Sneeze at OLED once>Screen ruined
>>750264673It gets so bright that it's not a good experience and lowering the brightness makes the colors worse
>>750264728Lower your back light then a simple 1:1 colour palet will good with with 0 backlight don't forget to set your GPU to full RGB if you support it.
>>750261132OLED cabal is now forcing their way into laptop market tooI really love my work laptop that I use to open email, pdf, word, and powerpoint have deep black and good hdr
>>750264728>Too brightLmao faggot.
>>750263848took a picturefor you all's edificationyou can see the little hotspots in a row in a horizontal band near the top area.it's true what they say that very, VERY few people will experience this because of the use case necessary to create it.this is 12649 hours of use. Anyone buying high end panel tech is probably upgrading more frequently anyway.
i avoided oled just like i avoided plasma tvs back in the dayi buy for longevity, miss me with planned obsolescence
I'll stay with IPS foreverOLED is a meme and planned obsolescence
>>750265486My 2009 plasma its good as new, but I only play movies in it.
>>750261821TNs are super fucking underrated at this point.>>750264018The main justification for it is that it allows for CRT like black levels. The actual dynamic range beyond just allowing more black is a complete meme, 10 bit color is good and solves banding, but you do not need bullshit that makes shit look super bright in inconsistent ways.
>>750265486Plasma is great though? Mine still works and it's atleast 15+ years old
