Okay so I'm not tripping. The new HDR in CP2077 really has gotten worse. I thought it was caused by Linux or hardware limitations, but they really messed it up. Just wanted to let you know.
It never was particularly good to begin with anyway, the black level floor has always been shit. You could "fix" it with renodx, but as usual, you got true black level floors, hooray, but now you couldn't see shit. But none of the tech obsessed eggheads developing this trash mod cares about that, as long as the game shows the correct values on their diagnostic tools, it's good for them, who the fuck cares if the game is unplayable as a result, but true blacks amirite? Fuck renodx.
>>750268006Don't know about that cause I used it on Windows10 prior to moving to CachyOS. The Windows10 HDR implementation was the most basic of all, it was just an "on/off" toggle in the system and the games enabled the function by detecting it, and with a bit luck like in Cyberpunk you'd be able to choose your HDR type (PQ or scRGB) and that was it. Playing it with the PQ setting, rawdogging it, it looked still amazing: deep blacks, flashy lights but not ultrasaturated, the lighting was insanely realistic... Now the blacks are literally washed out, it's all shades of gray and if you try for a "true" HDR feel it's just not possible, the game is literally unplayable, the colours are too saturated and the lights are too bright.So I'm on CachyOS right now, changed right when they released the update. Enabling a bunch of basic features took a bit of digging and I thought I missed something. Looking up a guide for the perfect settings just showed me the returns on the new patch, and it's not good. Pretty sure no mod or shader is able to fix this, it's hard-coded into the game. How lame.I'll wait a few weeks for a new patch and if it doesn't come by the time I'm frustrated enough I'll contact CDPR one way or another. I can't play without HDR, once you've tasted how good it can be it's pretty much impossible to go back.
>>750268006You can't just post truths like that and walk away anon. Artistic styling does not matter to the renodx crowd (you'll note cyberpunk actually is hued green at night), if black isn't 0 then game is fucked and unplayable.
