Is there a JRPG with better turn based combat than BG3?
All of them.
>>750270218DQ11
>>750270218Pretty much all of them bronybroski.
>>750270268>>750270278>>750270304okay but seriously now, without the shitposts and coping?
There are no JRPGs with satisfying combat systems. The gameplay in them is simply a spoon to feed you anime plots.
>>750270381All of them bronykun. Every single one. If you want something bg3 excels at you should have chosen barrel assets.
>>750270218yeah chrono trigger and xenogears
>>750270218>JRPGno. the whole genre is poisoned by retarded menuing and no tactics.
>>750270218I'm sure there's a japanese role playing game that can measure up but it won't be a JRPG
>>750270218All of them because BG3 is just D&D slop
persona 4
>>750271003it's fun
>>750270218yes
>>750271069>simple but effective>doesn't get in your way with bloated mechanics that requires you to open a wiki to figure them outthis but unironically
>>750270218imo all bg3 needs to not be miserable is bounded action times, i.e. a movement step can only take, at most, 2 seconds, an attack can only take, at most, 1 second, all npc move steps are preprocessed and the animations run simultaneouslyso when you consider that the biggest issue with bg3 is how agonizingly slow it is for no good reason, there's a lot of jerpgs that win out on that, like smt and the dqs and ffs that have speedup options
Tried playing this game because I learned I could automate the entire turnbased system. Turns out you can only activate your skill once, and you have to go back to the camp just to be able to heal again. What the fuck kind of "good" combat system is that?
>>750270218Unironically, Expedition 33
Here's why he keeps bringing up e33.
>>750270381DQ11
>>750271632It's a fact though, Expedition 33 is much more fun to play than BG3, unless you care about gay bear sex ofc.
>>750270268fpbp
>>750270218Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance
>>750271632idk i just posted it to make people mad. glad it worked, schizo
>>750271751isn't that game just pokemon for guys who wear trenchcoats
>>750271474Retard
>>750271794Worse, it's Pokémon for guys who wear programming socks
>>750271794if you're a retarded nigger that's a great way to look at it
>>750270218>is there a crap with better smell than bg3
>>750270218It's a very "pick your poison" really.JRPGs have weaker combat systems, WRPGs have shit enemies. The whole "the real monster is men" leads to painfully disappointing final bosses, because it's just a dude with slightly better specs. There's no Ex-death in the west, or weird bosses that require knowing the system to beat. You're given a crazy big customization system and nothing to use it with.
why did BG3 do so much psychic damage to /v/?
>>750272238The doxing broke him, and /v/ never let it go. That type of psychic damage can mindbreak someone.
>>750272238BG3 wouldn't have attracted that many casuals if people deeply cared about the combat bro
>>750272238>upset Bioware because it was a sequel to one of their own games and completely mogged them>upset JRPG fans because it actually had good turn-based comat>upset Bethesda because it outsold and won more awards than Starfield>upset Obsidian because they know they can't make a game that good>upset the chuds because it had bear sex or somethingit triggered a lot of different groups and demographics in the RPG sphere
>>750270268Honestly, BG3 is proof that westOIDs lack awareness of the even the most basic elements of RPG combat systems. Even FF13 had better combat flow than BG3.
>>750271632E33 copied JRPG combat doofus. If they used western sensibilities, we wouldn’t be talking about them now.
>>750270218Its a Krpg but imo troubleshooters has some of the best turn based combat for an rpg.
Not really, 99.9% of JRPGs are solid shit all the way through the core because the system is inherently flawed. It's just not interesting to select an attack from a list back and forth at each other, never will be.The few that manage to be acceptable do it by greatly raising the difficulty, and forcing the player to rely on consumable resources, thus essentially making it into a resource management game instead of a JRPG. Resource management games are fun so it works, ish.
>>750272520>le funny 'casuals hate complexity' fallacy if casuals hated complexity then why did games like dota, R6Siege and pubg take off?
>>750270218I enjoyed Octopath 2.And I always enjoyed how free form the party was in FFX.
>>750273116lowest IQ itt
>>750273376Having a caravan of 10ish dudes and a party limit of 3-4 will always be kino
>>750271709trvth nvke, as long as you have White skin and a complete lack of homosexual tendencies
>>750272741one of my favorite games of all time and the peak of it's genre imo, but much like BG3 it's stupid to compare it to typical turn-based gameseveryone should play this kino though if you like tactics
>>750270218Plenty
>>750272554not upset, just disappointed that westoids can't make anything beautiful and heterosexual anymore. well until E33 came out, but it's the one kino needle in a haystack full of western pozzed trash
>>750273362Masochism. They were told those games were too complex and too hard for them, so they kept playing those games with the vain hope someday they will be at least competent enough to make it out of tards rankings.
