So now that everyone played it can we finally admit that this game is actually really mid?
Weak
Main game is meh and unfinished Dlc is very cool once you are done with the reused level.Basically das.
>>750270423Bloodborne is really good. I loved playing it when I was growing up,
Dark Souls 2 ran so that Bloodborne could trip and dilate
>>750270423It's pretty amazing when you compare it to the previous Souls games
>>750270423Best drip, best combat and best atmospherethe runbacks and the finite heals are cancer
>>750270423Why is nobody pointing out that it's clearly the same mentally ill fag making these threads every single day for literal years? Show us on the doll where Bloodborne touched you
>>750270423is the decomp better than the shadps4 version?
>>750270613And this exact same fucking post gets made in every one of these threads tooI'm going insane
>>750270423Its slightly better than ds3, but far from the golden age of fromsoft that was DeS and DS1
>>750271267People are big fans of bb.
>>750270423It’s peak
>>750270423I started this, I like the atmosphere but it seems a bit hollow.
>>750271712It is pretty unfinished feeling but still really good for what it is.
>>750270863It is? Demons souls and dark souls hooked me quicker and earlier than bb, but I'm almost 40 now and played the previous two like ten years ago and host tried out bb a few days ago.
>>750270423it's a 9/10 to DeS and DaS's 10/10, and a head and shoulders above the rest of fromsofts 8/10s.
>>750270423It's no dark souls 2 that's for sure.
>>750271160hello?
>>750271160It's literally the shadps4 version with a wrap.
>>750271160Very much so, I was shocked. I didn't expect much because of it being an aislop emu wrapper but the performance is genuinely more than twice as good as shadps4 both on my desktop and steam deck, it hasnt had any of the notable bugs shadps4 still had for me either.
>>750273852>>750273954Im getting mixed messages does the vortex bug and random crashes still happen?
>>750270423It's good but pretty heavily overrated and weak in some core aspects like level design (post-Yharnam) and boss design
>>750271160It's not a decomp.
>>750270423It's no Elden Ring.
>>750273954Don't be shocked lol ai will put 95% of code monkeys out of a job
>>750270423it's just the most complete souls game From's ever done, it's good in the same way that Sekiro is good because it limits your options and therefore the devs can actually make a fairly unified experience
>>750274282I assume you mean the vertex explosion and seemingly no, I played for a few hours and didn't have a single bug or crash. If this keeps up for the whole game then I could confidently say this is finally the definitive way to play BB over original hardware, on desktop I get rock solid 120fps at 1440p.
>old face>horned faceNo thanks sir, I will remain in my anime games
>>750277524?
I prefer Demon's Souls and Dark Souls but it's still leagues above Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne and Sekiro were the last From Soft truly great games
>>7502704236/10, it not carrying over any of QoL features of DS2 like dedicated jump button, not triggering NG+ immediately upon beating the final boss or bonfire ascetics is pretty much inexcusable for me. That being said, despite the base game boss roster being the weakest in the series and suffering from the second half quality drop like most of these it's more like an okay game that just happened to run like shit on sole dedicated hardware.
>>750277850>the base game roster being the weakest in the series>saying this unironically in a post glazing dark souls 2Bloodbornes base game bosses certainly have room for improvement but the only base game bosses you could say for a second are worse than even the best base DaS2 had to offer are the One Reborn and the most shit-tier chalice dungeon bosses. Dark Souls 2 doesn't have a single boss in the entire game thats more than just okay, either mechanically or aesthetically, and at least 75% of the boss roster is actual dogshit. BB not having some of the objectively good QoL improvements from DaS2 does suck but thats extremely minor in comparison to the rest of base DaS2 being 100x worse than BB, especially the core gameplay.Let's also not forget that base DaS2 also ran like ass on consoles and unlike BB looked like total shit as well, the PC port sucked too (but at least it had one)
>>750270423it's alrightsekiro is better
Only Elden Ring has surpassed it in terms of gameplay, in terms of atmosphere it is still king.
>>750278529>the PC port sucked tooPlay DS2 and we'll talk.
>>750278529DS2 has a couple comically shit bosses but that doesn't absolve BB of having a roster full of 3/10s, which I wouldn't even peg as clearly better than DS2's roster. The only clearly good bosses in base BB are the two hunter bosses, Logarius, and maybe Shadows are acceptable if you don't mind a gank fight. BB has a big problem with way too many beast/monster bosses who 1) don't really flow with the hunter combat, and 2) barely have any interesting or unique movesets beyond just flailing their body at you (and a lot of them, like Paarl, Ebrietas, etc. get hard counter just by staying behind them).
>>750277670In the buildings, faggot
>>750270423Made me read all lovecraft books and i hate reading. So it was p good.
>>750279402schizo
>>750279276I'll just clarify this retard isn't me.
>>750279272If you are seriously going to fucking argue that the ORIGINAL dark souls 2 PC version (NOT scholar of the first sin) was anything but abysmal dogshit you never played it. Unlike 90 percent of band wagoners discussing the series today I actually played them all as they released.>>750279276You could argue that base BB has subpar bosses in comparison to games that released afterwards - I would disagree but it could be a valid argument, but by any objective metric Bloodbornes actual action bosses (as opposed to "gimmick" bosses like rom, micolash and the witch of the wick) completely mog the bosses of any prior souls game, especially DaS2. There isn't a single boss in all of base DaS2 that has more than like 4 extremely simple attacks at most, they are all completely decimated my circle strafing, and they're all extremely generic and forgettable aesthetically except for maybe the demon of song and mirror knight. I would strongly disagree on the beast bosses not flowing well with hunter combat, especially with their limb breaking system that makes them much more reactive than large monster enemies in previous games. Even extremely mid BB bosses like Shadows or Mergos Wet Nurse have far more complexity than anything in DaS2. Paarl is a dark souls 2 tier nothing burger brainless boss though, I'll give you that. Dark Souls 2 bosses are basically entirely chalice dungeon tier.
>>750270423yeah it was sorta mid but i enjoyed the orphan of kos boss fight
Anyone have a link that isn't malware?
>>750279859Agree to disagree I guess. I barely even know what most of the beast boss movesets in BB are because they just throw themselves at you, or the monsters like Amygdala just swing at you, and then I'd just sidestep behind them, smack their ass a few times and they'd die. I guess if you pushed me I could name a couple of the gimmicks on paper, but I never found them really differentiating gameplay-wise. So the whole statement>There isn't a single boss in all of base DaS2 that has more than like 4 extremely simple attacks at most, they are all completely decimated my circle strafing, and they're all extremely generic and forgettable aesthetically except for maybe the demon of song and mirror knight.I'd apply near-verbatim to Bloodborne beast/monster bosses.(Don't listen to >>750279759, we're the same person)
>>750279276>but that doesn't absolve BB of having a roster full of 3/10sGascoigneGehrman LogariusAmeliaLudwig the AccursedLudwig the Holy BladeMariaOrphanLaurence / Cleric BeastPthumerian ElderPthumerian DescendantAbhorrent BeastBloodletting beastDarkbeast PaarlAmygdalaBlood Starved BeastMost have great music too, sometimes it syncs up with their attacks. The only thing that makes them shit is being overleveled (or otherwise trivialized); bosses need to be threatening to be fun. Or if you keep getting stomped they'll feel bad, but that's really a skill issue. Also I know the memesters are gonna comment so I'll tell you now I had a lot of fun with Blood Starved Beast early game, he is very intimidating and makes a lot of players panic, get poisoned, try to slowly take antidote as he grabs them and bites their head off, "oh shit now I only got 4 antidotes left" so the next rematch feels even more pressured. Elden Ring and Dark Souls never had that scary intimidation factor that these bosses do.
>>750279604goycattle
>>750279461Are they worth reading?
>>750270423feels kinda anemic looking back compared to other souls games, not nearly as many weapons or spells but still good.
It didn’t age well but at the time it was a flawless 10/10
>>750280347In fairness they definitely do die too quickly, they really do have a lot of complexity and small mechanics that you're probably missing out on. I think bloodborne really comes into its own on NG+ and beyond, and all the base game bosses should have had higher stats so you can actually utilize the more unique mechanics, but they were probably skittish about making it too difficult when it was the first fast aggressive game in the series. You would both appreciate and despise a lot more about Amygdala if you fought his defiled chalice version.
>>750280494Not him but all of Lovecrafts more famous works are great and very much worth reading, except for the Call of Cthulhu which is mediocre despite obviously being his most well known by far. He has a lot of bullshit filler he wrote to sell to pulp magazines to pay bills but stuff like The Dunwich Horror, The Color Out of Space, The Shadow Over Innsmouth, The Mountains of Madness, The Shadow out of Time, The Whisperer in Darkness and some others are all great and very short
>>750280454get help
I used my first paycheck to buy a ps4 and bloodborne back in 2017. The game was mid. But desu back then i was burned out on everything and was going through a psychosis
>>750279276>that doesn't absolve BB of having a roster full of 3/10sThere's maybe like 3 unique bosses that are less than good and 2 of them are locked in Chalice Dungeons.
>>750270423I haven't played Demon's Souls or Sekiro, but I consider Bloodborne to be the best game in the Souls series.Based on my personal experience with the games:DS1 is an evolutionary step toward Bloodborne;DS2 is an evolutionary step toward Elden Ring; But as for DS3... honestly, I hate that game...
