Oblivion has minotaurs.
Weird, I never knew there were minotaurs in this game, how did I miss them for so long? Has anyone else had this happen to them?
i hate this schizo meme thread because minotaurs are awesome and I want a game where i can play as a minotaur who's actually sentient and not a retard
get back in your maze horncuck
>in the lore they're complex and part of Imperial culture>in oblivion they're just random faggots that no one cares about other than harvesting>not even a single guy is like "yeah sucks doesn't it"
age of mythology has my favorite minotaurs
>>750272553>sentient and not a retardminotaurs are contractually obliged to be bull-headed
Minotaurs live in mazes deep underground, not wander around pretty forests.BRAVO TODD YOU HACK
Skyrim has infinite quests
>>750272553Tauren in wow are pretty much minotaurs
>>750272553>Actually sentient and not a retardBut thats literally the entire appeal. Go play wow then.
Never played Oblivion before. The only TES I have played are Daggerfall, Morrowind and Skyrim. Is it fun playing a summoner in Oblivion?
>>750273074I still don't know what people were expecting when Todd said that? 200 Fallout 3 endings was an actual lie, but Skyrim does have infinite quests.
Wow never knew that
>>750272553minotaurs are only playable in ascii roguelikes for some reason
Whats the point of enemies being replaced by new ones later on, why does this happen and is there a fix to it.
>>750271995That's AI slop.Fun fact, Oblivion did have Mall Cop enemies if you levelled high enough though.
>>750273725Photorealism makes the game look generic along with this what I assume to be new attack animations look even jankier. How brain dead does one have to be to think this is the superior version or even something worth paying for.
>>750271995How did we go from cool monsters like minotaur, dremora, spider girls, etc in Oblivion to drauger, drauger, and bandits in Skyrim?
>just wondering around in the open instead of being in a labyrinthI guess they need to do shopping too
>>750274185a labyrinth? in this economy? these are simple working-class minotaurs; they cant afford to drop 700k septims on a labyrinth
>>750274402kek
>>750273723Indeed. Indeed it does.
>Minotaurs in lore>Gladiator arena>Imperials have Roman aestheticAnd yet the arena armor is just a goof tunic and there is no minotaur helm.
>>750274126Two different themes to the games:Oblivion focuses more on generic medieval fantasy, hence we got goblins, zombies, minotaurs, and daedraWhile skyrim is more Norse mythos, hence falmer (this version of goblins), draugr (norse version of mummies/zombies as seen in bloodmoon dlc), giants (literally reskinned minotaurs as both are giant creatures swinging large weapons, again Norse inspired), etcI do miss Spider daedra tho, but makes no sense to seem em around since oblivion gates were shut 200 years before skyrim
>>750273837Yes. Editing the levelled lists is super easy to do. Remaster already addresses it some by changing most lists to be the kind that just adds new enemies to the larger pool as you level, as opposed to vanilla where most lists always spawn the highest level enemy in your pool.
>>750273967The animations both suck and also don't even synch with the damage. The dagger is especially bad, as they some fancy backhand stab animations that breaks cadence, yet the attacks still register in cadence so you can end up with a huge desynch between the weapon hit registers and the animation if you just keep spamming.
>>750274126It is very annoying how Bethesda insists on building huge maps, and spends no time creating enemies. Starfield was the worse. 1000 planets and all there is to fight is the same 3 archtypes over and over.
In Oblivion the wolf population suddenly vanishes because the Minotaurs ate them all
>>750274832>Norse Mythology game>No Golden Saints even though their entire aesthetic is norse valkyrie
>>750272853what a fixed version of oblivion would look like:>cyrodiil is an agricultural river-based society set amidst jungles and tropical rainforests>the imperial city is actually properly sized as the largest city in tamriel>cities don't look like themeparks and have grounded, region-specific architecture>colovia and nibenay are actually culturally distinct regions>colovians are german-tier autistic, stoic, noble warriors (and they should wear colovian fur hats)>nibenese are very slightly asian-looking merchants who wear extravagant clothing and tattoos, and are fractured into various niche and mystical cults>imperial legionnaire armor has varied aesthetics ranging from medieval to romanesque to east asian>goblin tribes grow vast, underground mushroom gardens and tame durzogs as hunting animals>minotaurs display signs of culture and intelligence>land dreughs don't exist anymore, they're stupid>mehrunes dagon's specific realm of oblivion is referred to by its actual name: the deadlands
>>750275006you really think making big procgen maps takes a lot of time and artist?
>>750275527Don't forget the Tsaesci influences meaning snake motifs should be everywhere. And mages that ride dragons.
>>750275527Do the Tamriel Rebuilt stuff and turn Cyrodil Imperial into jungle tribal men with feather headset decorations reminiscent of native American tribes. It turns Tamriel into an alternate reality where Aztec conquered the world with their bloodied gods
>My-no-torrs>Min-ah-tarrs>Min-oh-torrswhich is it??
>>750275797That's not in Tamriel Rebuilt. The Anvil release is more or less just Oblivion's anvil but bigger. They did do some better monsters though, like giant eagles. But they are still clearly doing Oblivions Rome meets LOTR thing.

>>750276220this
>>750275971mino-tau-r
>>750275527Goblins are what Oblivion did the dirtiest imo. Daggerfall had really cool goblin lore, where Goblins cross over into Tamriel via goblin gates, which are thought to be portals to an alternate reality Tamriel. Its sort of hinted that Goblins might be the orcs of that alternate reality.
>not even bethesda cares about TES loreimagine being a elder scrolls lore fag, constantly soifacing over some lore paragraph that was written as an afterthought by some intern and will never match the painfully generic and shitty games
>>750276468>constantly soifacingAll of them are close to roping after seeing ESO, Oblivion and Skyrim shit all over the lore.
>>750276468ESO turns that up to 11. Its constant appearances by various things from the lore, watered down to the most boring and stupid things possible.
>>750275971Mee-Noh-Tower
>>750276220Got the accent juuuuuuuuuuust right.
fallout dont have bikes
>>750273967It's because they are too stupid to understand the original skill/attribute levelling system. They'll never understand the thrill of chasing the 5/5/5. All they will ever get is a flat 12 to freely distribute. DISGUSTING!
How the fuck do you pronounce "dreugh"?
>>750277106bikes are dorky, even josh sawyer who is obsessed with bikes declines to add them for this reason
>>750271995>>750272553Honestly, Minotaurs are such untapped potential too.Imagine a fantasy game where they DID have human level intelligence... and in return craft heavy armor and do like advanced martial arts training and shit.A force of well trained, intelligent and heavily equipped minotaurs would be fucking unstoppable. They'd straight up be Space Marines from Warhammer 40k but in a fantasy setting. So you could make it that whatever the big "totally not Roman Empire" is in that setting is run by minotaurs.Bonus points: allows you to have a setting/scenario where the story is much more "mundane" about politics and criminal groups and just some guy being an asshole instead of "save the world" because the minotaur police takes care of any major threat that arises so that world is *relatively* safe.(Could also have a GTA type of heat system where at the highest level instead of tanks you have minotaur knights send after you and the one post game superboss that requires a full party at max gear, max level and is still super hard to fight would be a minotaur-royal guard... who after the fight just stands up and goes "this was fun lets do that again some day" gives you some shit and leaves)Going up against a group of minotaur knights/paladins would just be this: https://youtu.be/ncauRK9f75Q
shame you can't have humanoid animals anymore without furries coming out of the woodwork with their shit fetish
>>750272553you could play as one in the old mmo Shadowbane

>>750273723People have genuinely unreasonably expectations regarding things Todd says, since they often take what he says out of context. Like how “see that mountain? You can climb it.” You CAN climb it and in fact you have to climb it as part of the main questline, but I think people were maybe expecting some rock climbing mechanic, which isn’t what he said. There’s also, the Fallout 4 “it just works”, which was just him making a generalised statement about how the pieces snap together easily in the settlement building mode. No clue why that one became a meme.
>>750285373I can tell you struggle a lot in your daily life.
>>750277106well there must be a reason that militaries are using scooters over bikes
>>750285373Because its an easy joke, simple question doctor.
>>750272431they only appear at higher levels, if you leveled up inefficiently (or efficiently) and slept enough to gain levels you start seeing them everywhere. You also see Bandits wearing fucking Glass and Ebony armor which is retarded.

>>750272553Might and Magic 8?
>>750288412It's mogged hard by Morrowind and Daggerfall, but it's still fun
>>750288643It's still up there as one of the best.
>>750273967the remaster is a giant pile of shit
>>750273356Not really. Oblivion has this anti-fun mechanic where spells aren't just locked away due to MP cost scaling off of skill level, but by hard-coded skill level requirements. Each skill is separated into tiers based on your level, there are tiers 0-24, 25-49, 50-74, 75-99, and then the top tier is level 100 by itself. So if a Conjuration spell belongs to the 75-99 tier and your Conjuration skill is 70 then you can NOT cast it no matter what, even if you're an MP god otherwise.
>>750272853You can thank Alessians chimpouts (lol) for that
>>750273356No. To get anything better than a shitty zombie you need to spam summons, and then by the time you are high enough level to summon something better, the enemies are stronger than your new summon.
