Yes, I got the Gameboy with kirby's dreamland after I got my tonsils removed as a kid. Kirby's Adventure for the NES is still my favorite platformer.

It wouldn't surprise me if he made some kind of deal with Nintendo that if he kept working on Smash, they would have to publish some other "passion project" of his, and this game was it. You see similar things with big time actors, btw. They'll do a big studio movie like a Marvel slop movie, and then they'll fuck off and do some smaller indie film that they want to be in. Same kind of thing.

I can’t say I hate Kirby, but his games don’t hold my attention for very long.
