Guess what everyone? It's time for another darkness double feature, this time centering around Nintendo's first dive into the realm of survival horror, Luigi's Mansion. Our first pick technically comes from the beta version, but i am still gonna count it. The first version of the game supposedly had a time limit for you to save Mario, and if you fail, Luigi would be forced to leave the mansion, looking dejected, and with a flash of lightning behind him. This represents Luigi's newfound depression after Mario has gone beyond his reach, condemning the both of them to lives of pain and suffering.
Next up, we have one of the first bosses of the game, Chauncey the spoiled brat. Children are terrifying in their own right, but that's not makes this so dark. The real darkness comes from the fact that it's literally a DEAD BABY! You know those baby jokes your friends used to make in middle school, it's just like that, except it's not a joke, it's the horrifying truth. NINTENDO PUT A LITERAL DEAD BABY IN THERE VIDEO GAME! HOW THE HECK IS THIS GAME RATED E, MORE IMPORTANTLY, HOW DID THIS GET PAST THE CENSORS?! HOLY TOLEDO BATMAN, NINTENDO DIDN'T MESS AROUND BACK THEN!
>>750275181That was complete bullshit made for creepypastas. The time limit was for the demo and Luigi did make that face at the end but it was for the original rank system, he makes that face in the worst rank.
>>750275562My mistake. Still dark though
>>750275714Not really, no. The rank system is like the final game but instead of showing the mansion, it shows Luigi. He's depressed because he barely made any money. There's no bad ending where he loses Mario forever.
>>750275876Barely making money is till pretty dark, especially in this day and age.
>>750276958True but not as dark as losing your brother forever.
you just want someone to post the spongebob on a rollercoaster imageI don't have it right now so I can't post it
>>750275181Freaking NSMB was darker than Luigi's Mansion, it's the game Mario finally decides to straight up go for the kill with Bowser
