Street Fighter pros are the best fighting game players period. I got to this rank after 30 hours in my first Tekken ever. I'm a 1700 MR Street Fighter player. Tekken is just brainless mashing and rote memorization.
Fighting games have been garbage since Gen 6.

sf6 is pretty scrubby but still retains the form of a real fighting game to some extent. tekken 8 is straight up not viable as a competitive game

The best fighting game players are from old GG and Melty Blood games. There's a reason they crushed that GBVS community team tournament from back when literally all of Japan was playing it
