ITT: games that are genuinely retarded and rage-inducing to play
what filtered you?
>>750287474>he never played ninja gaiden or dmclmao
>>750287747>filteredthe game is too easy to the point of being boringthe trash mobs literally stand there and do nothing, i had to install a mod to increase enemy aggression, but even then the enemy variety is so insanely low you're just rinsing the same 3 enemies over and over in every encounterboss fights are more fun and engaging but animations are so long that it feels like fights are almost scripted QTEs because you have to hit the "correct" response for each enemy attack (dodge if grab or AoE, parry or deflect if melee) and if you don't you're already locked in an animation and fucked for the next attackand don't even get me started on how the game literally force pauses itself 7 times in a row to explain to you how to upgrade your fucking sword or unlock a new skill which takes literally a single button press to do
>>750288038coming off of beating Mortal Shell 2 and Valor Mortis, Onimusha just feels worse and less fun to play
>>750288038This was how I felt about Sekiro too but apparently that made me a tranny
>>750288098How did you like Mortal Shell 2? I got to the underground final zone and just dropped it because it was just filled with random high tier monsters that made no sense being there and after beating that one lightning sword guy I realized that it was just going to be a shitty boss rush and I gave up.It sucks because I liked the idea of the game but then every area just has nothing in it 99% of the time and then you hit the bone area and you drown in items, also realizing that upgrading your weapons was a literal joke because of how low of a damage increase it is made me realize that the game has so many glaring issues that I was ignoring for the sake of giving it a chance and I've been permanently turned off of the game.I wish nonfrom souls games would actually try to create good exploration, I feel like the average soulslike creates a parry combat system and then just phones in everything else. I want that experience of being a lone knight trudging through darkroot basin again bros
>>750290108>How did you like Mortal Shell 2I thought it was fun, but I wish they designed the upgrade system to lean into the shells in a different way, so you could swap between them more seamlessly to adapt to different enemies/environments at will rather than leaning into one or two playstyles based on the shells you liked mostFor exploration, I think Wuchang was really good, and Valor Mortis surprised me with what I though was really killer level designToo many games saw Sekiro as justification to add parry mechanics without building a combat system that's actually unique or fun to play (not to mention Sekiro's deflect feels nothing like a "parry" in any of these newer soulslikes)I'm really excited for Phantom Blade Zero, I think they "get" the whole free flowing combat thing and think it's going to play really well mixing in attacks and deflects and several enemies given that you can (I think) animation cancel at pretty much any point to keep the flow of combat going
tl;dr
is ninja gaiden 4 any fun?
>>750290559dumbed down turorialized slop for retards aka capcom
>>750290474I've played Wuchang and it was very good, it was the strange mix of it being incredibly brutal but at the same time, once you get the boss down, they feel super simple. I got slammed by Honglan and then I got utterly raped by Bo Sorceress, but everything else was pretty manageable. The exploration was well done as well, especially with areas where you can straight up sequence break to later areas for quicker NG+s. I'm excited to see the sequel for sure
>>750288038Bro your issen? You know you can do it to every single attack in the game? If you genuinely spend time deflecting attacks for any other reason but activating blazing mode, then you suck ass. Woth proper issens you can phase 1 almost all bosses.
>>750291086>issenhaven't really used that much, there's been 2 bosses so far that i didn't beat first try, i just don't like how "choreographed" and the combat feelsit just doesn't feel like i'm in a sword fight the way sekiro felt or the way phantom blade looks like it's going to feel (God I hope it delivers)
>>750291446Brother, if you think Onimusha feels choreographed and yet are hyped for Phantom Blade, then I fear you might be genuinely retarded.
The game is good and carnage mode forces you to get good.
>>750291537do you still lose all your shit on new game + or did they patch it yet?
>>750291842You lose your sword level and two other gear levels, you keep everything else.I used a trainer to restore them to where they were when I beat the game on action mode, ain't nobody have time to explore the map againIf you ask me that's the only baffling fault the game has.
>>750287474its one of the easiest action games out there, what the hell are you on about?
>>750292440read the thread you fucking retard that's specifically why i don't like it
>>750287474>skill issue
>>750292560post your no hit carnage Yoshitsune video
>>750292764why would i do that when the game isn't fun to play?to be fair, i think a lot of the core mechanics are good, i like the issen, i really like the blade clash, i just think the lack of enemy variety and difficulty makes it super boring between boss fights, and boss fights feel either mildly satisfying or really fucking annoying given how extended and "locked in" animations feel
>>750293259you didn't play the game, gotchakill yourself
>>750293259that's literally and unironically skill issueyou can be performing attacks and still dodge or issen even in the middle of an animation if your timing is goodif you know how to play you can onslaught enemies and counter all of their attacks on a nonstop barrageif you're bad the game is boring, reminds me of the DMC5 reviews where journos complained that the game had no music becasue it only really starts playing once you hit S rank during combos
>>750293559>if you know how to play you can onslaught enemies and counter all of their attacksnigga what enemy attacks? the trash mobs literally stand their and wait to take their turns doing one attack a piece i had to mod enemy aggression to try to get them to do anything at alla single non-elite enemy in sekiro was more rewarding and fun to fight than a mob of the same copy-pasted enemy encounter in onimusha
>>750293728The game is about the bosses, the mobs are there to curbstomp retards but any player with half a brain disposes of them quickly and moves on.
>>750289885You are not a tranny. Just a fag.
>>750291446>>750288038Anon, the you can always play Onimusha on Carnage Mode, and that's where you're supposed to use Issen. In fact, you're supposed to use every resource you have otherwise Carnage will be frustratingly difficultAlso, apart from needing dodge button to counter throws - there's no correct way to play the game>>Blade attacksYou can parry to build blaze gauge, and it leaves more opening for you to take a breather and choose to use Oni Armaments. However it's too slow to break down stamina. You can deflect - which breaks down stamina faster - but even faster in blazing state which you need to parry to build. Deflect also leave less opening, and against certain bosses, deflecting them actually makes them do throws (which I avoid when against Yoshitsune)You can Issen blade attacks - which is most rewarding because it does life and stamina damage both and yields purple souls - but the timing requirement ranges from 2 to 8 frames. For ranged and non-blade attacks, you can both Issen and dodge. Dodge is obviously less rewarding, but still builds up the reflex counter gauge - plus you can use it to train Issen timing. You can also simply run away to avoid certain attacks. It's not rewarding, but if it works for you it works for you. Arrow use is limited, it's essential to interrupt certain attacks against bosses. Otherwise I find it fun to humiliate bosses with arrows >>parry Yoshitsune's attack, leaves him in back-turned state. >>shoot him in the ass>>he now fights with an arrow sticking out of his bum
>>750295859The thing about Onimusha is that the game actually encourages you to fight the bosses your way. If you find the method you've been using to beat the game is not fun - then it's actually time to ask yourself: "why are you doing it this way?"I personally don't go for the quickest way to kill bosses. When I get the chance to, instead of pressing the attack, I go for the slow walk. This is one thing that won me over with Onimusha - it's not just that you get to slow walk - Capcom made Musashi's slow walk animation badass even when you're using the 3rd person view. And no I'm not that good, I get to toy with the bosses because I've got the Bishamonten equipped.
>>750295859>I find it fun to humiliate bosses with arrowsbased
>>750295859>>750296395it's not just purely difficulty, it's that the combat almost feels claustrophobic to mejust a result of the animations, like the time you have to wait to get back up from the ground or how the dodge is a more realistic looking dodge instead of an quick side step or something and you can't string them together as fluidly (even though you can easily dodge grab attacks when it sometimes feels like you can't based on the animation)it's just how the game feels to play, i think claustrophobic describes it well for mecompared to like wukong or khazan that just felt so much more fluid and "at my will"
>>750296745Fair criticism, that's actually what makes me like Onimusha better than Wukong so I can understand where you're coming from.
