It's really good and very close to being an incredible game, but they just cut too much stuff from previous games. Also the new horde mode that's supposed to be a 12 player mode is really 4 players doing skirmishes around the other players and once every 30 hours you experience what an actual 12 player mode would feel like. That's when you have everybody huddled up together fighting two bosses at the same time while hordes of Locust swarm your position at the same time. It's fucking glorious and they need to put a mode like that in asap.

Generally alright story that has a sore spot with mags. In act 4 you meet mags auntie(lol) who is somehow the leader of the stranded after the cog pulls out. Probably the worst part of the game. Marcus and Dom moments are genuinely great and seeing them become friends over the lost of Carlos was kino. In terms of the gameplay, they reinvented the wheel and while it was fun to play, it was a weird things as the controls are strange and some functions overlap the same button/keys. Game looks great and seeing the city get destroyed over the course of two days was pretty insane.Horde has been completely changed and I really don't care much for it. No private matches so you can't solo. All the maps are ripped from the campaign.Versus is versus. No interest in versus since gears 3 so I am not all that familiar. Only a few maps and from what I heard, it isn't as gnasher intensive.I will say this, it really is the best story since the original trilogy. If you didn't give a shit about kait in gears 5 then you would enjoy this game. I just think that it is too little too late and people don't care for gears anymore expect for some die hard fans. 6/10
