You don't need to be a multiclassed abomination, because casters don't really like to branch out to other classes and slow down their spell progression, so 20 levels in Wizard is perfectly fine and even optimal in most cases.The exception to this is if you want to take 10 levels in a prestige class to add more flavor to your base caster, like Eldritch Knight if you want to hit stuff while casting spells, Arcane Tricskter if you want to deal sneak attack with your spells, etc. But this is in no way required and meeting the prerequisites to qualify for these prestige classes can actually make your build worse in some cases.
I've beaten both games on Core without doing any multi-classing and I got through them just fine. You do need to know what you're doing though, if you have no understanding of how to build a good character in PF1e you're probably going to fuck yourself somewhere along the way
>>750298920Angel mythic past gets a bunch of strong blast damage nuke spells, but it levels with your divine spellbooks instead of arcane. Arcane has just as many attacking spells as arcane though so if you just want to nuke shit with lasers and explosions you can do that with angel oracle
