It's got a bad name because of low IQ niggers who can't enjoy media unless they are in it themselves, but majority of fiction is built around self-insertion, with the protagonist basically being the proxy through which the readers/watchers/players experience the world and the plot.If you straight up CANNOT roleplay - that might be a problem with your brain, you might be one of the low IQ niggers. But if you just don't wanna - I would personally not fault you. Especially considering that non-TT RPGs are almost universally shit at roleplaying. I've tried to pull off some very opinionated characters before and it usually doesn't work because the "roleplaying" consists of "Yes", "Yes but more money", "Yes, but I'll be grumpy", and "No and I WILL KILL EVERYONE HAHAHAHAHAHAHA". At that point just being a schmoe is the only functional choice.
