I got the preorder bonus but I'm wondering which platform is better.

The new steam port is probably more moddable in the long run but the emulation is probably more accurate. Granted I've heard there's not much of a relevant difference beyond the engine exhaust blur and maybe needing to install VP9 codecs if you don't have them.

Apparently some people have had audio issues with the Steam version.

Unless the PC version gets a proper release, emulation is the way to go, C'mon, PA, I wanna give ya money, ACZ is the game that got me into the series over 20 years ago. I hope they use the AC8 money to free up the mangled rights isseus on the 'Nado so it finally comes out.

The port is extremely bare-bones. If you want the most authentic experience, play it in PCSX2 at native resolution. If you want high-res then play the port, as it has the in-game HUD elements at a matching resolution (except for the plane and missile icons) whereas those will be all pixelated if you emulate. The port also has the choice of Japanese voices, although there's probably undubs for the PS2 ISO as well.
