Almost the second i started playing automata. (I played it before the first one).
Having shmup sections in a JRPG felt like it was content made specifically for me. It was obvious Taro was a huge Treasure fan as the shmup sections absolutely were inspired by Ikaruga (not just visually, but the fact that the gameplay and direction is tied in sync with musical cues).
