ITT shitty dead games you miss
I miss my zaku
>>750305563I wish this hadn't've been so blatantly pay2win
Most genuine fun (as opposed to forced fun) I've had in a MOBA
>>750305497I jerked off to *that*. You know what I'm talking about.
No joke, I was a fan of the original mode, it was fast, engaging, required quick thinking and agility with the mouse, but they had to ruin the game with battle royale shit. Player base then got split and I had to quit because of the long queue times.
>all games that had blatant P2W cash shop items
This shit was better post release than the beta and faggy melee pedos can eat a fucking dick.Monetization and the grind for new characters was cancer thougheverbeit>NOOOO I NEED INFINITE AIR DASHES WITH FUCKING IFRAMES PLEASE!!!!!
>>750305497>>750305497mafia on star craft servers
Too fucking many to name at this point desu
>>750305497>>750305936i always wondered if they modeled the nude parts or not, or if it was just clever censoring
maybe I only liked it because it was the first multiplayer fps I played, but it was fun
>>750305497>>750305563>>750305578>>750305715>>750305748>the MMORPG genre went from literally everywhere to functionally dead>only ones left are WoW (asmongoloids) and FF14 (ERPers)>the f2p fps (TF2/Counterstrike clone) genre is dead>CS2 is the only one people care about nowadays>Even hyper-niche cult following stuff like EVE and Star Conflict are basically hemorrhaging players due to hackers and p2w>the only "Massively Multiplayer" that are even popular nowadays are Overwatch and pubg clonesI hated them, but I miss them at the same time
>>750306393Even the first EverQuest still has multiple servers up with many guilds raiding at full raid force of 54 ppl at this moment. Tibia still has a stable population that's enough to support the game, OSRS is out there and is quite popular. New niche indie MMOs are being developed and released. You and the likes of you are poisoned by the perception that an MMORPG is "not dead" only when it has unnaturaly humongous player counts like WoW and XIV. These two games are not the norm and never had been. They are outliers in the degree of success. The "MMORPG everywhere" was also an unnatural phenomena as it was a bubble inflated by WoW's success. And yes, there are fewer people actively playing the genre as a whole nowadays than in the genre's heyday. But this is also a normal thing in the vidya department. There are lots of other examples of genres' popularity coming in crashing wave, seemingly to stay forever, yet receding then. Point and click quests, RTS games, arena shooters, MMORPGs, MOBAs - they all came, attracted core audience and tourists for a time. Then the tourists went after the next big thing leaving only the core audience behind. And let me tell you, though I already did in the first paragraph, that MMORPGs are more lively than some of the other genres' which time in the spotlight had passed.Truth be told it's better like this. What WoW's success did to the whole genre's landscape was a scorching effect turning the whole genre into its clones. Even the games that weren't explicitly WoW-like still incorporated systems it pioneered. WoW, despite being objectively a good game, homogenized the genre and then started leading it astray towards solo-play catering and other genre diminishing bullshit you probably know just as well as I do. Only recently has the genre started to finally heal. I do not want another hyper popular MMORPG like WoW to surface, lest the history would repeat itself. I'd rather the genre stay niche with small projects around.
