It's such a good little game. And it does a whole bunch of innovative shit for the genre (especially for 1992).Like being able to interact with stuff in real time on the map (cutting down trees etc).You can see your enemies before getting into a fight.You can jump across platforms.You can equip items like claws and then climb up the sides of mountains.Just little things like that, things that you could do that weren't normally in the genre at all.It's ridiculous how under-rated it is when you bring it up on games databases with user ratings. Just because it's slightly different to the main series..... it also has ridiculously good music.
I like how the enemies are facing the viewer and how their sprites change when their health is low. I think this is better than the side vs. side lineups in most FFs. The battle music is pretty cool too; it's like you're playing Punch-Out.
