Missed out on this game at launch because of the battle system (no experience points makes it hard to work up enthusiasm for engaging with the battle system) but exploring the overworld, bonking everything with your hammer and interacting with the NPCs is fun. I just don't understand why this franchise struggles making fans truly happy (letting it be an RPG spin-off series) without boring Intelligent Systems (allowing them to explore these games being more than just turn-based RPGs).
The fans are idiots. Feel pride in being part of the small elite that can appreciate a game for what it is, instead of hating it for what it isn't. It can only be the thing it is. The thing it isn't is a fantasy.
LOL
>>750307486Experience points were always a meme in Paper Mario.
>>750307486It was fine....hated the combat system and how every single NPC looked the same, is Miyamoto a racist? if so kinda based, but I wish there was more creativity there
>>750308412I can see the argument for this (you can't really level up, IIRC experience farming gets capped) but there is a feeling of growth throughout the journey and side characters are implemented better in battle. Experience points aside, outside of the boss battles the average fight in Origami King can feel like a chore to get through with the circular system rearranging.
sex with paper bobombs
>>750308610Paper Peach owes me sex!
>>750307486I played 20 mins of SPM and skipped all the sticker shit games. After getting 70% through origami king and finally quitting, I see what people mean when they say all the toads look the same and only make jokes about paper. The combat system was absolutely atrocious and it seems like everyone else agreed as everyone I saw play it was skipping overworld battles after 30 minutes. Shame, I loved the artwork and some of level designs were interesting. This franchise is dead as fuck and never going to be good again.
