Is Pokopia fun?
>>750310909Yeah. The islands are well laid out, lots areas that give you ideas on how to sculpt them but nothing stopping you from building more elaborate landscapes or boring tunnels as a shortcut between areas. It's definitely leaning hard on the player liking pokemon as the mechanics and gameplay are a bit shallow, but it's a solid game. Mind you I haven't played DQB so it might feel anemic compared to that.
>>750310909I binged it upon release and had a lot of fun completing the Pokedex and Habitatdex, as well as beautifying the biomes and doing some pretty simple but appealing builds. Going back to it almost seems daunting though, with the updates and DLC. Some QoL changes have been implemented but I'm not familiar with them. It's a solid exclusive and found it more enjoyable than expected, I've never been much of a creator in these types of games. Pokemon as inhabitants of the world, each with their own personality and even unique interactions kept the experience fairly engaging.
>>750310909I'm also curious if this is worth my money. I like factorio but I'm not into animal crossing cozy shit.
>>750311426If you don't like building a little house so that bulbasaur feels good about the decor then you're probably gonna get real fucking bored. There's other shit to do but all the exploration is in service of fucking about and building little habitats or doing light terraforming.
>>750310909Yes, I think so.
>>750310909No.The game sucks at building because getting crafting recipes is tied to RNG, There's no punishment for time-traveling, but the time gates seriously disrupt the gameplay. You're extremely limited in what you can build during the story, and you only get most of the building materials and abilities near the endPokémon are basically just tools, which is a slog when you're constantly crafting items. You should only play this game if you like the Pokémon brand. Otherwise, spend $20 and play Dragon Quest Builders 2 instead.
>>750310909my gf has played it for an hour every weekday morning sInce launch.
>>750310909If you don't play many video games yes, very. My sister put hundreds of hours into it.
>>750311704Yeah probably not for me, I care about gameplay progression and deep systems not humanizing 3d models and sprites.
>>750313908I'm also very systems-driven and have never really gotten the allure of the various Animal Crossing/Harvest Moon "cozy" games but I'm a huge fan of pokemon so that was enough to get me over the hump. Even then I petered off before getting deep into the postgame and didn't bother with the DLC. I think my girlfriend has twice as many hours into it as I do. For what it's worth you can do some really stupid shit with impromptu logic gates by combining motion sensors with various sluice gates but it's incredibly hokey.
