How impressive was the PSP in 2004?

Probably one of the best devices made in terms of guiding tech. It was a smart phone well before smart phones.

You could even have your own background/wallpaper, and some people took it one step further and created custom icons and UI's for it. Back then it was revolutionary just because you had a device that could function as multiple things. I used to enjoy just downloading anime pictures and saving them to my PSP. Why? I don't know. Some people were actually using it for porn. I knew a guy who apparently kept hentai and shit on it.

The amount of hours I sunk into Dissidia, about 600 hours, certainly messed up my circle and R1+Triangle buttons lelBut at least it's still working and I still have it today

It took until like 2011 for phones to catch up.

GTA:VCS does not look substantially worse than GTA:VC when played on an actual PSP. Imo the claims that of Vita being PS3 tier was the bigger fraud, PSP being a PS2 in your pocket is a fairly accurate way to describe it in terms of graphics power.
