I still have not played AC7 yet. idk why, I have too many other games in my backlog and I've seen it on sale so many times for >$10 and yet I just never got it. I actually might just get a physical copy of it on ebay soon for playstation, since I have all the other ace combat games physical copies outside of the PS1 games even assault horizon on the 360 lolidk why I just never played 7, I knew it existed this whole time I just kind of lost interest in the franchise and didn't think about it, then when 8 came out I decided to pre-order since I wanted to play Zero again and had FOMO and boughted, and honestly I loved 8. I spent most of my first playthrough being Hornetpilled.Occasionally hopped into the F-14 but I didn't really find it advantageous compared to the essentials the F/A-18C had-4AAM for clearing out slow-dodging planes in the air, GPB for clearing the ground, and LASM for popping ships.The F/A-18E can carry to the end, though the F-35C was admittedly too tempting to not try flying a few times (even though HCAA are fucking garbage)

This game has the best draw distance in AC ever, truly made me feel how much technology progressed especially when playing 0 after. You can vaguely see shit happening in the distance even before they pop up in the smallest radar.

I just finished replaying Zero on PC. I forgot what a pain in the ass the tunnel run at Avalon is. But otherwise it's just as good as it was almost 20 years ago. Impressed with the upscaling job they did on the interview FMVs.

You can have a whole level be an entirely featureless patch of ocean, but it's fine because the cloud formation can make the level interesting to fly in for instance. I'd say it was a worthwhile investment on their part.
