Reminder that this game is a piece of fucking shit and that ME2 is the best in the franchise. >>750364179The combat is enjoyable enough where I can ignore the dogshit writing, I prefer it to 1 which has dogshit gunplay.
>>7503641793 has the best gameplay by far, and the story of 2 is just way too disjointed. Honestly 3 > 1 > 2.
>>750364179ME3 is a masterpiece outside of the ending. It literally has the best moment in the entire trilogy.>Shepard reluctantly shooting Mordin Solus to prevent the Genophage from being cured.
>>750365401The Mordin thing is a lucky accident. It doesn't feel like a moment the whole series was building to, and I was even like "what?" that that whole part of the game is about actually curing the Genophage as the primary objective.I figured that would stay as it was, and at best there'd be a plot about discovering the actual potential for a cure for once, and then by getting help there's a hope of curing it in the future after the war, if the Krogan and Salarian survive.I also thought ME3 was gonna be more about evactuating and finding some way to outsmart the Reapers but the angle they went with was "Total War" where everything is a trench-run scenario, except they had to make the majority of levels about fighting Cerberus just because every Reaper level feels fucking inconsequential when you're just fighting their husks and cybernetic cannon fodder. The Rannoch portion had issues but the Reaper boss fight was fucking awesome in no other sense than that it finally created a scenario where Shepard realistically fights a Reaper and wins with the help of allies. Way more of the game should've built up scenarios like that, and the Worm vs Reaper fight didn't make me feel that way.
>>750364805>turned fun game into shitty gears ripoffSome echo chambers really have you thinking that driving 15 minutes up a vertical mountain is people's definition of fun, instead of a scanning minigame that takes 30s.>but muh skyboxYeah, sure, let me put down $70 for a skyboxEven the gears of war analogy falls flat, when ME1 is already a gear of war ripoff. Inb4 you post Leaving Earth or An End Once & For All. Here's why you'd be wrong: Suicide Mission and other ME2 cues contain the leitmotifs established in Mass Effect 1: The "Mass Effect universe" cue and the "Commander Shepard's journey". The part where it goes like "deet-du-du-du-dat-duh" with the bloopy sound is the "universe" signature which plays at the start of each game, and throughout various other themes, but only in ME1 and ME2, and the ONLY time it ever appears in Mass Effect 3 is the text-crawl in the opening. The other part is the Shepard/Normandy theme, which is that victorious fanfare melody like the music playing over Shepard in the frame in ME1's ending. Both of those cues flow through parts of the new musics in ME2 and Suicide mission theme. And the Suicide Mission theme also incorporates the Illusive Man (Cerberus) music and the "Collectors are attacking!" musics, all perfectly arranging a piece that scores the entire game, and journey of the suicide mission.ME3 wishes it could have an OST like that, but you're stuck with a Requiem for a Dream score by the Requiem for a Dream composer (who quit the project after 1 song) in the intro and ending. And the game also generally forced "sad piano" in other parts but every time the themes are completely different.

>>750366172>Cutoff 26 daysI can make 1 exception to that rule for Mass Effect 2, for 26 days.
>>750366235>musically the franchise never got better than thatThe soundtrack peaked with ME1 doe.>The Normandy Reborn, a track for one of the most retarded videogame intros in history >Suicide Mission being used in the main menu, actual suicide mission and credits because the game realizes it's the only track that stands outAnd yes, those tracks you mentioned from 3 are better, alongside plenty more like Mars, Surkesh, Rannoch and the like. Not to mention missing the point of the post with how the specific tracks linked were not even created by the composers of 1/3 but rather showing how those two games are far more connecte between themselves than 2, to the point they share their credits theme's band. 2 is constantly desperate to be unburdened from 1 and uncaring for a future 3, and the franchise's been paying for it for 15 years.
>>750366287That's cool, but I'm not buying Lame Edition when I already own the og, and even when (or did they do it already?) shut down the servers there's pocket relayAlso runs off of locally run servers while the mod you linked talks about some master one
>>750366562>Normandy RebornI fucked with this cutscene even if the sound director is a grade A retard for pitching up the song in the game just to time it to the cinematichttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jzv5k6p0Swo
>>750366667>I fucked with this cutsceneBut why? You lost the Normandy five minutes ago and you've gone on one short mission that didn't even require the ship, you used a shuttle. Why is the game presenting it as this great return when the player hasn't felt the loss at all?
>>750366757I may actually be on the spectrum but I am not a grade A autistic sperg unlike most in these threads.I VIBE with the game, so when Shepard's like "I got lucky... with lots of strings attached" and hear what sounds like tongue-in-cheek dialogue I know that this is the writing saying "Shepard's fucking awesome isn't he? And we're back in action" and they've reduced the whole "cheating death" plot point to that feeling.Which is fine with me, even if I read the entire codex and think the world is otherwise super believable.
>>750366856>I clapped at the screen Fair enough, I won't take it away from you.
>>750366757In another way, what I meant with >>750366856is that I think where every idiot sees "melodrama" with the death thing, I just see style and vibes. Which I'm totally fine with. Mass Effect was ultimately never a FULLY realistic story, not even ME1, it was just a pretty geeky and verisimiltuous sci-fi with some fantasy elements and wavering between extremely soft sci fi and somewhat harder sci fi at times. And I was fine with it as long as it felt like great scriptwriting, which I think it does here. ME1 was like reading a fantasy novel which was a bit corny, but super intriguing too, and ME3 is the same as ME2 but started to have a lot of Joss Whedon type crap in the script and actual autistic writers who write fanon shit.
>>750366974Fuck off. I'd never do that in the theaters. Only followed Capeshit until I saw Avengers in 2012, tried a few more times and I can't fucking take it. Mass Effect 2 should've been the Leviathan DLC. The game's biggest issue is that it does nothing with the plot hooks ME1 created for it, introduces a bunch of shit that goes nowhere like the Collectors or the baby Reaper, builds up nothing for ME3 Reaper-wise then fucks off into the sunset having crashed and burned the whole thing.Have the Collectors be the Leviathans' agents, and have the Leviathans only get active in the modern galaxy after Sovereign's defeat: the former gets rid of the player wondering why the fuck the Collectors did nothing to aid Saren and Sovereign during ME1, the latter explains why the Leviathans themselves weren't present while Sovereign was doing his thing and show how afraid of their creations they are. Have the Leviathans use the Collectors to go after Shepard because it's the first time they see what he accomplished in ME1: a regular organic destroying Sovereign, the Reaper's vanguard. Have the main quest be the Leviathan DLC just extended and thought through, with Liara not rewritten into a retarded edgy info broker but staying as the nerdy archeologist obsessed with Protheans and now Reapers. Have her take EDI's role whenever you'd visit Dr. Bryson. Build the game up around a bunch of stages like Mahavid which brought some of that cosmic horror back to the franchise. Things like https://youtu.be/TgDBkCHKGRg?t=1295 or especially https://youtu.be/TgDBkCHKGRg?t=1628 . All of it would be wrapped as a big mystery where you wouldn't even there's a difference between a Reaper and a Leviathan until the second half of the game.
>>750368896Then to further tie with the eventual ME3, during the final mission aboard the Collector Base, you find the Crucible's blueprints in its database: that singlehandedly turns ME2 into an invaluable pillar in the trilogy that sets up the Reapers' downfall for ME3 to then build up to for an entire game, and it establishes the Leviathans as someone that's been playing the long game for billions of years, cycle after cycle, remaining hidden and coming out near the end of harvestings to harvest themselves what bits of technology and Crucible research each cycle had made, getting closer and closer every 50k years, until Shepard's turn.Instead ME2 is just... some nonsense sidequest about kidnapped colonists you don't care about and never interact with outside of one (1) dude that's an asshole, and you're forced off the Alliance and into the retarded terrorists because ???
>>750368227sex with salarians
>>750365629>It doesn't feel like a moment the whole series was building toIn ME1, one of the primary enemies you fight is krogans. To talk down Wrex, you have to convince him that the cure coming from Saren is a mistake. In ME2, you go to Techanka and see what a complete shithole it is. Yes, it is in part because of the Genophage, but they nuked their own planet even before this. Mordin spends the entire mission justifying his decisions, even if he is coping. You also witness krogans capturing other races to use as guinea pigs to find a cure. And in ME3, tricking the krogan is the only way to get both them and the salarians on your side.

I didn't even SEE what the Leviathan scene was for 3 years. Then I finally played it and it's just a bunch of excuses to make the ending concept sound like it belonged in the game in a retroactive sense. To me it still isn't canon. I even semi liked the idea that there were creators of the Reapers who had a problem of "chaos", and then the Reapers made this autonomous solution which hasn't had any checks or balances since the creators died, and that's like 90% of the explanation for why the Reapers are doing anything so inscrutably.Don't care for the whole "Synthetic life is gonna kill us all" shit because that literally doesn't fit in the story where they just showed numerous times that Synthetics are just misunderstood most of the time, and they're not actually genocidal by nature as they evolve, so the endings being like "Ooo this is a big problem, which color will you choose about it?" as the ending of everything is stupid. And all Leviathan DLC actually does is that it takes that and says "SEE!?? IT WAS ACTUALLY A PROBLEM 1.000.000.000.000.000.000.000 years ago!! So it's a REAL problem!!"Leviathan is shit.

>>750372640The vast majority of people rank 2 as the best game. What "people" are laughing when you say 2 is the best?
>>750372564but the only thing ME2 did better was in making the guns feel distinct from each other, even the powers felt worse because the engineer went from being a disruption monster to a generic fucking wizard throwing fireballs, icebolts and lightning blasts. biotics basically aren't allowed to play the game because most enemies resist them until they're near dead anyway, and classes like infiltrator feel worse because of ammo restrictions that previously didn't exist. >>750373795Mass Effect, as an RPG, should prioritize its writing, worldbuilding, and tone above all else. ME2 gears-ified the gameplay, sure, but in all other areas it was enough of a downgrade to be noticeable. The serious space opera writing became sort of fanfic-ified. Hype moments and aura, as they say. Again, it wasn't bad, but it was the beginning of the end for the franchise. >>750375063>>750375131>>750375170NTA but ME2 is the best game in the franchise.no contest. If you understand game design you'll know this is true. It struck a balance. The encounter design is good, and it evenly distributes the 3 pillairs of Exploration, Conversation and Combat that the franchise is about. ME1 did it too but everything is primitive even the conversations, where it's mostly talking heads and stilted animation. And Mass Effect 3 sucks because BioWare started working against the limitations of their own design tools. You have a system that's built for an animation library where it's the talking and gesturing that carries the writing, like in a low budget TV show where they can't do many stunts. But in Mass Effect 3 they begin to sacrifice choice-wheels just to have 2 characters walk through rooms and have cinematic storyboarding that makes everything linear, because they're putting the writing and cutscene-animation above the gameplay.Mass Effect 1 you land on a planet and it actually lands you on a planet, where the player steps out in a hub area, and enemies are seamless, but there are stretches of "level" that's mostly combat, interspersed with optional NPC encounters and NPC hubs, evenly distributing Exploration/Conversation/Combat.In Mass Effect 2 the game becomes split between hub areas and missions. If you land on a planet that's a hub, you're locked into not using guns and talking to NPCs, and opening side-questing. If you land on a planet that's a mission you get cutscenes and combat, but you can holster the gun and use hacking, and find extra rooms and extra NPCs with extra dialogue wheels. In Mass Effect 3 it's the same system as 2, but the hub is 90% fetch-questing, and the missions are purely "Uncharted style" linear segments where the characters talk over each other as you move around in combat. You can't holster, and you don't find optional NPCs in side-rooms that have extra dialogue branches. Almost all dialogue is ambient.
>>750374904thats probably just true thowhat game has bioware put out in the time since? ill tell you: absolutely fuck allbioware was probably the first major dev to go full bluehair. all those cornyass romance quests attracted the weirdest, sweatiest, fanfic-writing furfag lesbians (male) to enlist in their ranks, and the infection spread from there
>>750375349
guys guys, it doesn't matter which one is your favorite, you're all gay anyways
>>750375465>tallest RPG fan
Pure combat gameplay: ME3 > ME1 > ME2Overall: ME1 > ME2 > ME3
it's ME1 = Ur Quan Masters = KOTOR II > System Shock 2 = System Shock 1 = KOTOR I >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ME3 with mods >>> that one Guardians of the Galaxy game >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ME3 without mods > MEA > ME2Yeah, really.
>>750372190I remember being disappointed too. It was like they took all the personality out of it and turned it into a generic AAA blockbuster game.
>>750374208ME3 multiplayer is the closest we'll get to a Mass Effect MMO
>>750372716Well that's silly seeing as adrenaline rush is bar none the most op ability in 2.Though it is boring so maybe you're on to something jk 2 has the most unenjoyable combat by far and nothing will fix it
>>750364480the patrician's choice.
>>750378275the mod that makes it so biotics work on things with armor and shields makes adept fun at least.
>>750375538Yeah, unfortunatelyThe level design more than anything fails 2, it largely lacks the options to make cover shooting interesting or enjoyable. Things like the atrocious health system or gcd are easily fixed.1 is janky AF but at least allows fun with busted builds and abilities
>>750373381Yeah, as opposed to the 00s that had Witcher 3 and ... uuuuuuuh. The 00s had Morrowind, Oblivion, Gothic 1-3, ToEE, Arcanum, Icewind Dale 2, NWN1&2, Mask of the Betrayer especially, KotoR 1&2, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, DA:O, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, Baldur's Gate 2 and Diablo 2, and you're going to tell me the 10s and 20s have had a better streak of RPGs than that? Come on now. Even Larian was already making Divinity games back then, we also had Diablo clones like Sacred that, while not great, scratched that itch well. I'm now itching to go back to Sacred 2, ffs.
>>750364179lol 2 ruined everything
>>750373435Well, it's easy. ME3 removes 75% of the ME2 cast, removes 33% of dialogue options, has autodialogue, has the worst level design and encounter design in the trilogy, Kai Leng, broken journal, worst Reaper fight in the franchise, bugs everywhere, eavesdrop quests, the writing is shit outside of Tuchanka and a few standout character moments, Priority Earth is one of the most underwhelming end missions in all of gaming, and it entirely shits the best with the ending. It's very easy to dislike ME3.
>>750378275>s adrenaline rush is bar none the most op ability in 2.infiltrator gets that as a passive + 300% damage ultra kill assassination abilityAND sabotage primes targets for a Garrus/Edi tech combo
>>750378636I still don't get why so few can see this. My first playthrough of the 3 games started with ME1 and 2 back to back, so granted I could be biased in that regard as almost 2 years passed before I got 3, but I had a really REALLY bad time with 3 even right away.I was extremely excited for 3, and I had opinions about the story but not a completely specific idea of what I thought I wanted. But as 3 starts there was just immediately things in the writing I felt like I disagreed with, like "What..? WHAT? Why is THAT happening?" like the whole "I wanna stay on Earth and fight!!" nonsense, feels so fuckign forced. It feels like 3 is only superficially a great game. It feels as if the writing never makes that much sense but carries itself solely through pathos. Everything sounds and SEEMS emotional or passionately stated, but what they're saying is almost always stupid.
>>750364179ME2 sucks too.
>>750364179>fuck TalifagsUnfathomably based
>>750364179It's absolute garbage from the word go. Fun MP at the time though despite being quite basic.
>>750364179It has been years, eyeballtank Let it go
>>750378998It doesn't. ME1 and ME2 are both based. 3 is where it started to feel like a fanon and the corporate style of "EA BioWare" started to become too impossible to ignore.
>>750378998So does your mom, but I love her. Here's $5 to buy yourself a popsicle, son.
>>750378636I mean ME2 removed most of the ME1 cast already, gave you an inferior ship, gay ass nolan batman strap on armor, guns that reloadnone of that gravy 50s-80s sci fi pulp, just pure modernity.
>>750379430It had a modernity for sure but things about ME2 still evoke plenty of classic sci fi, especially stuff like Blade Runner.ME3 is the one where everything is overly slick and feels like they just wanted to make JJ Abrams Star Trek. It didn't even have the Film Grain setting in the original version anymore because they decided "it doesn't look like the digital camera lens"
>>750364805>shitty gears ripoffIts really ages the shit out of the game.
>>7503791863 is just a copy paste of 2 with a worse story and more stuffI don't see how you can like me 2 and not enjoy the gameplay of 3
>>750364179ME1 was the only good oneThe rot was already setting in by ME2. It took a big shit over the setting and wasted the middle part of the trilogy on a fucking sidequest
>>750379430>I mean ME2 removed most of the ME1 cast already, gave you an inferior shipThe ME1 crew was largely mid and forgettable. Most of the personality of Garrus and Tali comes from ME2, and its where they really became fan favorites, and the SR2 is far better, not only in its ME2 rendition to the ME3 one, but also to the SR1.>gay ass nolan batman strap on armor,First time I hear anyone make this argument. Probably because it doesn't exist.>guns that reloadSorry to tell you, but probably only you cared about that. Like, in ME1, I kept pressing R to reload as a reflex, and got frustrated when I had to wait for the CD. It just doesn't work. Reload is just muscle memory at this point.>none of that gravy 50s-80s sci fi pulp, just pure modernityYou have no idea what that even means. There's a fuckton of pulp in Omega. Even then, you're going to visit different places, you should expect them to look different, which you mostly don't. Most places look like how stuff looked in ME1. Maybe it's the orange filter that confused you so much.
>>750379494>, especially stuff like Blade Runner.you disgrace Blade RunnerME2's omega and illium are fuckin smut films compared to the tasteful tributes to the past found in the Wards and NoveriaME1 does modernization of the classic concepts, ME2 just does modernity, the world outside your window. Works well in a marvel comic, not for speculative fictionME3 puts you in a halo game, but grounding it around the Alliance brings back some of that ME1 umami. But it's not enough, the damage was done by 2 and continued with 3.Also ME is supposed to look sleek. The whole design for the franchise is trying to emulate a Syd Mead Pittsburgh era steel company retrofuturist aesthetic
I liked all 3 games. I care about the writing, directorial aspects and music composition and they were all solid.
>>750379694K but I hate Mass Effect 3 and I will never accept it as a legitimate sequel to anything.3 of the 5 writers had quit and they added 8 writers to the game, and a third of them were woman this time. You can tell where 3 fell apart. Half the dialogue is more cringy than before, and there's a lot of really empty dialogue throughout the game, and absolute clunkers like>Shepard: Wait!!>Shepard: Let's go!or>Radio: We're pinned down! What's your ETA??>Shepard: I'll be there ASAP!
2 used to be my favorite and probably is still the one I've played the most though my opinion of it turned negative over the years. Probably since playing the legendary edition with mods. There are some mods that make 1 and 3 a bit more fun but no amount of mods can make 2's gameplay good. Gameplay is the worst of the 3 even compared to the jankass 1, which at least has fun biotics. The cast is way too big with most of them being boring. Should have removed half of them and fleshed out the others way more. Have half the loyalty missions not being about daddy issues would have been nice. Story is nonexistent with no real moment that stuck with me like Vigil in 1. Though it's got great a great OST.
ME2 was a filler episode that added nothing worthwhile to the plot. Don't bitch about 3 when 2 set it up for failure.
>>750379862>K but I hate Mass Effect 3 and I will never accept it as a legitimate sequel to anythingI agree with you but add ME2 to that argument. ME2 and 3 are a different universe to mealso those writers that quit actually left during ME2's production in 2009, with Karpyshyn(the supposed "head writer" everyone pretends they love) not even quitting the company but choosing to work on TOR and his Star Wars and Mass Effect books instead.
>>750379862>Alright, I think that's all of them>Hurry, let's get out of here before more of them come backI think you meant "before more of them arrive...">There will be a lot more blood... REAL blood, if we don't succeed. As opposed to fake blood?>That all?>Yeah, you can go... and, heh! Tell Aria I expect her BLUE ASS in bed with ME *smirks*>Aria.>Yes, it's me. Did you talk to him?>Yes. He wanted to mention...>That he wants to sleep with me? If I catch him staring at my tits one more time I might have to kill him.Like I'm not even going at this from a feminist POV (I'm not) but this writing is fucking autistic. This is where the Veilguard shit started especially. Weekes also wrote a bit of corn in 2, like the Har-dee-har-funny "Vas QWIB QWIB" bit that I still don't understand why that's funny. Because it sounds funny? Are you a fucking toddler? But ME3 is full of these like... ugh, just pretentious ass weakly written dialogue that I can't stand.
>>750379962Problem is that while 2 has a disjointed plot due to the writers probably not taking it seriously ahead of knowing they were quitting, the game's individual missions and setpieces and dialogue were like 99% written by the writing staff from the first game, and they only left 6 months from launch, in Summer 2009 when all their work was ready to go, and only slightly iterated upon by Patrick Weekes sitting with Luke Kristjansson at the end.So to me ME2 is full of great writing and while it does update the universe and loses that ME1 feeling after its 2-year timeskip, I think that's just commonplace for sequels that try to improve (and over-correct) on their predecessors. It's the same vibe I got playing Kingdom Hearts 2. It's the same feeling going from Ratchet & Clank 1 to Ratchet & Clank 2. There's always going to be a spiritual loss of something that stems from the first game being a bunch of happy accidents, from really early concepting that still made its way into the final code, because they eventually had to compile the game and ship it.A lot of what's in ME1 doesn't match the vision of what they finally "found out" that they wanted it to be over halfway into the dev cycle, and ME2 is much closer to the kind of game they always hoped ME1 would be, but it took a while onboarding the KOTOR guys to something else, and it took a while to figure out what the impulse really was behind a lot of early aspirations (something about Rainbow Six meets Jack Bauer in 24 the TV show, but in space, where Bauer is Renegade)Honestly looking at the last ME1 previews in 2007 with Casey Hudson talking about it to Gamespot and IGN, feels very similar to how he would present ME2 just 2 years later. But if you look at earlier builds there was a different atmosphere to it, because it started from a point of hiring MMORPG writers and hard-sci-fi fanatics and then already started moving away from it before it shipped.
>>750380147yeah nah. EA wanted a third person shooter, so they had one of their companies make a third person shooter
>>750379662>Like, in ME1, I kept pressing R to reload as a reflex, and got frustrated when I had to wait for the CDwow you are clearly the smartest guy in this thread and everyone should listen to you
>>750380731Thank you for your non-argument, while entirely dismissing the fact that, not only does R not reload, but it is also the default key-binding for the grenade. Now, it is simple to change keybind so as not to throw grenades, singe that is usually F or G, but you forget that the vast, vast, vast majority of shooters, i.e. every single shooter out there, uses R for Reload, and muscle memory is muscle memory, and the weapon CD is much longer than a reload. Which makes the mechanic sub-optimal, and often frustrating for the vast number of gamers out there. But since you are such a fucking genius, it is a good thing I didn't have to explain all that.
>>750364480/thread
It's 1>>2>31 is obviously the best because it's an actual RPG adventure and is unhampered by expectation and prior canon. The story is tight, the sense of exploration is strong, the tactical gameplay actually matters and the combat isn't completely brainless Gears shit. Conversation trees were actually interesting and lended themselves to genuine roleplay, making you think about each response. Yeah the Mako gameplay is probably the weakest part, but at least it made it feel like a real adventure through space. It created a sense of scale. ME2 and ME3 are both massive downgrades as they just turned into generic action games. ME2 pulls out ahead of ME3 slightly because they still hadn't completely rounded out every edge, and while yeah its a side quest, the way the suicide mission unfolds is fantastic. ME3 started off with a disadvantage by having the weight of rounding off the series, but it fucked up massively on its own. Even more simplified than ME2. The citadel was embarassing, and I was completing side quests without even thinking about it. Just play the game normally then return to the citadel, talk to everyone, and you'll hand in a bunch of side quests you didn't even notice you'd advanced. The removal of the helmet toggle and the inability to holster and unholster your weapon at will are minor features. but a microcosm of the wider difference in philosophy. Mass Effect 1 is made for the sort of person who wants to immerse themselves in a story and world, 2 and 3 are for people who sprint to the next objective marker.
>>750380925Not that anon, but "the vast number of gamers out there" play asscreed and gun and ball games. Who gives a shit about what the vast number of gamers want? I want to play something other than just a carbon copy of the latest popular brainless shooter from time to time. Retards like you are why we're at a stage that there's like three different templates for a triple AAA game. You shit your pants at the idea you need to learn a game's own rules.
ME2 and ME3 fags arguing with each other is always hilarious. You're both the inferior runts.
>>750379694catachrism did wonders here
>>750364480ME1 is the most overrated POS ever.I played ME2 first and heard about le hardcore RPG mechanics in ME1 for YEARS.And then I finally played it.The so called "rpg mechanics" amounted to basically nothing. What was there was already vestigial and watered down into meaninglessness at best, or at worst it was like the loot that does nothing but wasting your time by shoveling identical equipment at you but this time with 1 extra damage. Totally uninteresting busywork.Everything ME2 streamlined was a positive.
>>750381881>ME1 is the most overrated POS ever.wrongdidn't read
>>750381881Also the plot of ME2 is better because it doesn't focus on the main plot and instead lets you explore the universe more. The reapers are just not interesting.
>>750364179Still better than Andromeda
>>750381924ME1 was a half baked action game with vestigial RPG mechanics poorly tacked on.
>>750382076I'm not saying me1 didn't have a lot of problems and repetitive gameplay but mass effect 2 went into the complete opposite side instead of improving on stuff.Me1 had a good foundation that was done away with.
>>750382121its just one guy replying to himself over and over
>>750364179ME3 had an amazing multiplayer mode, and from what ive heard is it has been revived but I wouldnt know where to start
>>750373390Why pitch it any different? It's mostly a rewrite of 2's main quest where as stated you'd still end up in the Collector Base, the side content recruitment shtick could stay. Nothing about https://youtu.be/bIG2dWLHaYU changes outside of TIM being Anderson or Hackett.
>>750375450Yeah, the balance of making biotics dogshit and ruining the setting and the main story ME1 carefully tailored. Get the fuck outta here.
>>750381928Nobody thought this back in 2009 btwPeople often quote the Virmire twist about what Sovereign is, or Vigil's conversation, as peaks in ME's narrative as a whole. Those are all plot. ME2 sidelining the Reapers and ME3 not nailing down their reasonings until Leviathan doesn't mean ME1's actual main plot wasn't very well executed and left fans wanting more from the Reapers. Stop excusing dogshit games throwing something unique out the window.
>>750379862>anon BTFOs your argument >"K but I hate Mass Effect 3 and I will never accept it as a legitimate sequel"lmao get fucked
>>750378636>ME3 removes 75% of the ME2 castMaybe they shouldn't have blown their load a game early with the Suicide Mission. And 2 does the same with 1, sucks when it happens to your retarded favorite game huh?>has the worst level design and encounter design in the trilogyIt has the best, though? As in, objectively, 3's combat/encounter design and return to hallway combat after 2's failed more arena-like rooms were the best of the bunch >Kai LengAs retarded as TIM, I'm sure you'd agree?>worst Reaper fightBut we're not talking about the baby Reaper here>the writing is shitHave you *played* Mass Effect 2?
>>750364179lmao it's better than 2, schizo God that game fucked things up
>>750379662>the SR2 is far better, not only in its ME2 rendition to the ME3 one, but also to the SR1lmfao nobody sane believes this. What the FUCK were they thinking with the godawful Cerberus Normandy? Jesus Christ.SR1 > Alliance SR2 > Cerberus SR2
>>750380147>this is who you're arguing with when they tell you ME2 is a better game than ME1 or 3
>>750364179I cannot take someone that says "ME2 is the best in the franchise" seriously. That game's the definition of aging badly. Fuck Cerberus, fucked the Illusive Man, fuck the Collectors, fuck Harbinger and fuck (You)
>>750375450>it evenly distributes the 3 pillairs of Exploration, Conversation and Combat>*cuts the Mako*Retard. The Mako gave the universe a sense of scale and helped not make every planet a series of corridors, especially the main quest ones; you actually felt the distance traveled between Zhu's Hope and ExoGeni, or Port Hanshan and Peak 15. What distance do you travel in Tuchanka between Wrex's camp and the hospital ruins where Maelon is hiding? Is it far away or not? Is it hours worth of travel or just a couple city blocks? You don't know because it's a loading screen. It was cut because it was too much effort, and we wouldn't want the Gears kiddies to get bored and turn the game off instead cover shooting non-stop for another 20 hours.Didn't even read the rest.
>>750381448>Not that anon, but "the vast number of gamers out there" play asscreed and gun and ball games>gun gamesI see. Perhaps the issue I mentioned with the guns is prevalent among gun gamers. Because, as stated, they keep pressing the R to Reload in a game without reload, that you then have to sit in a cuck chair, until your gun CDs.
>>750364805The characters and their stories carry the game, but overall the gameplay and the plot of the game is shit. You spend the entire game assembling a team and accomplishing absolutely nothing, since the reapers end up invading anyways.
Why did they double doen on the thermal clip idea? Like its bad enough you did it but having your character in game talk about all the advantages of limited ammo over basically infinite ammo feels forced.
