This is not so bad in most levels, but for longer levels can be quite annoying. Sorry for the inconvenience! no update in 10 days
Can the section west of beancasters that you skip over with the purple bean be accessed from neighboring areas? I'vd unlocked the second purple beam but can't move it, and the green beam at the start can't move either. >>750475681I assume this is in the ghostly swamp area in endgame 2. Love the setting there all around
>>750476451You're probably just stupid. These levels are a blast.
>>750476512nah its in the overworld but only available post credits
bros...i'm gonna do it
>>750476635i didnt even beat the thief onenice job bro
>>750476697The thief one wasn't so bad>>750476635I've left this to do as my final puzzle of the game probably, I have some ideas but it's going to take some work. Might even grab some pen and paper
>>750476635This looks easy. Where is the location for it?In my mind you'd put the top left crystal either beside a corner or side, then teleport around the ring and then swap it. Is that not the solution?
>>750477476As you teleport around the ring, you "skip over" the empty slot. You don't get a chance to stand on it, nor does the slot loop around behind you or anything. A full set of swaps around the ring leaves you in exactly the same starting configuration. It's only available in a secret part of the lobby area after the second ending. You can unlock a crystal on the second floor, overlooking the very beginning tutorial area with the rocks, and drop down and push two rocks into place, and then go back up, drop down and walk along the path to the left. There's a thief level as well, which I solved last night, >>750440960, and is much easier.
>>750476635why can't the wizard just walk backwardis he stupid?
>>750476075The one in the corner might be accessible, the rest definitely aren't.
>>750478214He's too fat to not turn.
>>750475681I liked the first one more. There is something purer about the concept.

jon blow why do i need to keep my mirror clones alive to leave the level? let me build a bridge out of their corpses you coward.
>>750482151>its the thing that you tried a few times but you need to time it slightly better to get a different outcomereally nigger
>>750482241Oh, I saw someone post a picture of this some days ago. Still haven't gotten there yet, but pretty cool. The beam computation levels were very impressive, as far as "contraptions built out of game objects" go
>>7504766352 hours later and I'm still just having fun making weird arrangements out of the original shape. Still feeling my way around how I can properly maneuver everything.
>>750482394Not to downplay it, but most puzzle games are Turing-complete, which means that you can make any sort of computation engine, in theory (given time and space). For example, Baba is You, with the right setup. Or, ignoring Factorio's wiring system for logic gates, you can poll belt/chest contents and make your own computation network
does pressing R always take you back to a solvable state? feel bricked, but I don't want to go looking for stuff cause I'll get spoiled
>>750483151It's supposed to. If not, just undo everything manually
>>750483151yes unless youre hunting for 6 treasures in skipping stones
>>750476451There're many good SxM stages, but I agree with the sentiment.
>>750483279>>750483331alright thanks
>>750483151In early versions of the game you could reach a checkpoint in a bad state, latest version has this>KNOWN ISSUE: After the update yesterday we have had reports that reset fails to correctly reset the level. We are looking into this and will hopefully get a fix out soon. In the meantime you should be able to use undo to get back to the start of the level, at which point reset will start working correctly again. This is not so bad in most levels, but for longer levels can be quite annoying. Sorry for the inconvenience!
i did it

How much of what's left do I need to solve the meta red puzzles for? I've been going through looking for areas I could get into and am starting to hit mostly dead ends. Trying to get that upwards facing mirror I unlocked in the first ending working before my surveying trip ends tomorrow. It's easier to focus alone in the woods by a campfire.
>>750484065I knew a block printing puzzle was coming. Like how you can just walk off camera, but there's clearly a boundary pretty close as blocks stop dropping in water.
>>750484524Pretty sure you have enough to solve the red metapuzzle now, surveyor anon. Do you understand what's being asked of you or no?
>>750484524you have everything already, there's nothing left here for now. just go into the fast travel world and go to all of the 'red' locations
>>750476635this is such a good puzzle that felt great to finally crack, but it feels really out of place in this gamd
???
>>750484658 I got the red bariers at the starting area down, got the mirror, and unlocked the purple beam to the west. But I can't find a way to push the purple beam up to the break in the rocks to shine to the upwards mirror, and don't understand the point of the red lily pad. I was hoping there was more that would help me tie it all together.
>>750484947My headcanon theory, which I'm like 90% sure is correct, is that this and the thief situations were theoretical limits discovered during development of the game, in experimentation and playtesting. The devs probably discovered these scenarios in seeing how many blocks the thief could maneuver into a given space, or how wizard swap cycles worked with various groups of objects, and found them too challenging to incorporate into a normal puzzle but hid them in the game as mathematical curiosities. We sort of got a normal puzzle out of the bard with that two sided switches situation, but it wasn't nearly as much of a theoretical limit, as a difficult looking thing with a simple trick.
This is my thinking chair.
>>750485363yeah I get the same feeling, someone made a ring of crystals on a whim and removed one crystal in the corner and was surprised how involved it was to get it back into its original spot
>>750486080There was that audio clip in the mirror way I think that talked about rotations and rotations back or something, some kind of group actions or group theory related topic. What's demonstrated in the wizard case is that some of these actions aren't easily invertible, or like you can only go one way around the whole ring of moves back to the start, so it only takes a couple steps to perturb it, and many steps to get back there. Or, they found a case where this was true.
>>7504850871. beam: you have everything you need to move the beam to the right spot in the little zone it spawns in, just treat it as a normal puzzle2. rest: hypothetically, if you were to move the mirror, where could it possible be moved to? push it around and see how far you can get it
>>750472709>nobody wants to understand and calculate whats going on hereI sat and counted. You could have done that too.
>>750484648
>>750486840geg
>>750476451>it becomes trial and errorThat level isn't trial and error at all. It comes immediately after a level in which you loop a skipping stone repeatedly until you are able to get into position. You do that here too.
>>750486932what was the preceding level? the concept felt completely novel to me when I discovered it for that one
>>750485961This is my other thinking chair.
>>750487059This one.
>>750424121Dead game lol
>>750487750oh that one. idk concept seemed completely different to me. that one abuses a quirk of mirrors where the reflection distance only functions through the first mirror you hit, where as the other puzzle is about delaying a stone
>>750486932im not reading spoiler but its trial and error in a sense that i placed the mirrors approximately because im not gonna imagine in my head how its gonna fucking bounce after each reflection. i just go and push it and see if im off and by how many. and its not helping that every time i want to do that i need to ride the lilypad and then if i accidentally miss one mirror the timing becomes fucked and i cant even undo it so i have to undo a lot and ride the lilypad againits just very shit gameplay
>>750485363>>750486080Dare I ask?
All hail the crystal square
>>750488120it's giving The Witness (2016)
>>750488041not either of those anons but just look at the puzzle and try to figure out how you're going to move the block to the switch. Shit looks scary.
>>750488323No I know, it looks trivial but it's probably a stupid 250 move puzzle
>>750488351It's easily the hardest puzzle in the whole game. Not meant for normal play so they stuffed it away in the basement for only hardcore sokoban autists to tackle
all because this stupid fat fucking wizard cant be arsed to take a step without turning his stupid fucking body around and looking at crystals.

Left the game running by accident for 48 hours and now my playtime makes me look like a brainlet
Are the puzzles with the "warning, difficult and unrewarding" really that bad? Fiddled with the first one for 10 minutes and got in my own head as to how fucked it might be
>>750492084just hold Z for 48 hours to fix it
>>750492186The thief one is tough, but you can reason through it if you can play some of the harder in-game puzzles. The wizard one is exponentially harder, and on a different order of difficulty than the normal game levels.

qrd on why /v/ likes this game so much? Is there a known name involved in the development?
>>750470356If you remember from the earlier mirror segment, the mirror guy explains he came back because of the advice of a wealthy man who "Had been to many lands and carried a piece of each of them" so he probably actually did more then that

>>750494246Aren't there nearly a thousand puzzles?
Sad audio log.
>>750482005>>750482241It's not timed, you just have limited moves.
The 500 hours thing is a bit worrying given that I know what a meta puzzle isHas anyone actually solved everything and found that there was definitely nothing left?No mysterious rooms you can't get to or slight implications of peculiar arrangements of blocks?
>>750482341I thought about this too when playing the demo the first time. Having to keep them all alive allows for more puzzles than being able to kill them.
>>750494640I did all the puzzles but I have no idea how to get to the last screen on the final map. Seems like it's an easter egg or something.
>>750494640Every dev overestimates the length of their games.I 100%ed the demo in maybe 7 hours, and I'm pretty sure JoBlo said that had 50 hours of content.
I'm finally getting around to playing the demo for this shit that I installed weeks ago, but it only says "uninstall". Surely Blow didn't actually remove the demo, right?
>>750494740It's the remaining 300 hours of puzzle anon!(Assuming that 5pph is the lowest estimated)>>750494785That just feels like a mystifying amount to be wrong by when you have playtesters2.5x the slower people in the thread, for a sokoban game?
>>750494802How can you even remove a demo? Steam can't delete files without permission can't you just click the exe?
>>750494640JB himself said that outside of a small number of outliers, most players were still in the first half of the game, even players with high playtimes.
>>750494640I'm at 600 puzzles solved, 150 hours. Given my rate of progress at this point I definitely see my 100% time at 200-300 hours.
>>750494640He overestimated by about x5, probably by giving the game to dumb randos
>>750495104Is /v/...Good at games?
>>750495146There was a guy a few threads back who was really self-conscious about his playtime and was taking measures to keep it artifically low.So no, probably not.

>>750496884Well, that was dumber than I thought it would be.
Unhinged fucking level. The big star before this took me like 2 minutes, and this normal ass level took me 45.
> Reached the level with 5000 buttons and 5000 mirrorsI thought this was going to be fun but it seems like an absurd escalation on what you're asked to do compared to the previous levels
Also unhinged but somehow easier to surmise the intent after a bit
>>750498621Once you figure out the starting spot it's pretty easy. And there's really only one way to get to the far away cage at the bottom. Everything just lines up after that

>>750500232Only like 5 levels. The optional one in the arches area in particular where you get gem guy and the push power. I'm a fucking retard. I probably sat there for an hour trying to get the warrior to not get squished and it was braindead easy
>>750500232Only 10 minutes? Well lah-dee-dah look at Mr Mensa over here.
There's no red herrings right? Like there's no puzzle that can be beaten without using pretty much every piece and item in some way right?
>>750500854A couple of alternate solutions that were probably overlooked in testing don't use everything, but every intended solution seems to use everything in a level. There is one mirror stones level I played that didn't use a two tile pier thing that is probably the only true red herring I have encountered in the 670+ puzzles I've completed
>>750500854No, some puzzles have possible solutions where you don't use every item. I solved this one with only two of the three stones.
I have entered Antipode High about an hour ago and it's easily the worst part of the game so far.
for me its the get stuck on a puzzle, go to bed and solve it in the morning instantly in 5 seconds
