The main surprise of the series is that after linear main story, they turned into an open world horror collecting game. (some of the post-game puzzles were annoying though)It's just this time they put a spin on the horror was the farming sim aspect. And, from what I've seen, it's quite extensive, it's not just a gimmick or red herring.Yomawari games take place in rural Japanese countryside, and it showed the devs put a lot of love into the art and sprites. And it shouldn't have come as big of a surprise that they went as far as implement the quiet farming life into the gameplay somehow.
