Get ready, I have a lot of upcoming game webms to dump. Some made by me, some made by other anons that I downloaded from steam next fest threads but not only.
Almost every game is sourced and named. ITT you will find 69 games that anons have bothered enough to record webms for and share/upload on catbox, maybe you'll find something you like. Enough to try their demo (when applicable) or wishlist them. Mostly indies. Thank you for bothering to record your gameplay anons.

Anyway, enjoy.

Exhibit #0 - XXXX (japanese indie 2D boss rush game demo with strong hand drawn arstyle. Snake girl is harder than karmelita from silksong, eigong from nine sols and irisu from rabi-ribi, great music)

Thanks for making this thread, what a fucking oasis in the AI hurricane from this year. I seriously saw a dozen games that caught my interest. Already had my eye on Type Me Home, and I'm definitely getting Gravity Circuit 2, the original's the best Mega-Man inspired game I've ever played. Need to play the LELU demo I downloaded.

Other than that, I noted Shade Protocol, Dungeon Lurker, Prisoner of Husks, High Roller Penny, Fork the Rich, Valkyrja, Knuckle Paradise, and Evil Moon Unspoken.

Of all those that had demos, and if you played any of those, which would you say you enjoyed most? Was there a game I didn't mention that you'd urge me to consider? I'm normally heavy into roguelites, action, arcade, and Metroidvanias. I shy away from FPS games and anything involving resource management.

>the original's the best Mega-Man inspired game I've ever played.
Agreed
>Of all those demos, and you played any of those, which would you say you enjoyed most?
From those you quoted, I enjoyed most:
>Prisoner of Husks
Despite its slowness in the movement, mainly for atmosphere and "exploration". It's a parry based soulslike but I found the focus on dolls to be somewhat cute. Voice acting could've been better. Demo is short so there isn't really enough time to properly gauge how the game will turn out, I think it's really a matter of if you're going to click with the gameplay, controller in hand.

>Evil Moon Unspoken
was because the game's visuals reminded me of metroid prime hunters. The aesthetics and music in the menu sold me, there's a bit of exploration too. Demo is really short but worth a try, even if using mouse + keyboard feels like cheating (primehack)
The grapple item upgrade makes me hope for more involved movement/combat sequences
>Knuckle Paradise
just a solid beat em up all around
>Fork the rich
movement took me a bit of time to get used to and throwing the fork can be frustrating (it pushes you back when you're close to a wall) but the setting of the story was funny enough for me to power through it. decent music
>Valkyrja
Everything felt right to me, movement and music. Cute art too. Maybe a little "by the book" but I think you're going to enjoy the demo. VERY SHORT though and boss fight can feel a bit unfair

>Was there a game I didn't mention that you'd urge me to consider? I'm normally heavy into roguelites, action, arcade, and Metroidvanias

Try:
-XXXX demo (boss rush, great music)
-Rusted Moss (prequel to iron bramble I mentioned in this thread, if you click with the movement/grapple you will have a good time)
-Up Beat demo (arcade like punch out, can't be more classic than that)

People shouldn't respect me in any case. There are very few individuals you are capable of respecting without meeting them. Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill and so on.

>you aren't as good as you think you are.
Usually people who use AI for coding know this, it's why they use AI, you can be skilled in many other fields and still want to make a game, and in many cases AI (esp the newer models) is more reliable than some dude who might ghost you at any moment or cost you an arm and a leg and still produce a subpar result.

Cry and cope all you want, your replies tell me coding is all you know and you're afraid of losing the only thing that gives you a sense of self worth. I've seen artists make really good concepts and even full on projects on their own using AI completely bypassing the need of a programmer, and they wont stop.
This way of thinking will only make you fall behind, you should be embracing the new tech and using it to your own advantage, this is even what most Software Engineering jobs expect of you nowadays, keep up.

You really ought to tell people that AI causes YouTubers to avoid a game which kills your success. No need to make it about muh honor.

It's not about honor, it's about we don't need this shit. Fuck AI and fuck AI data centers. Fuck AI for dumbing people down with brainrot and a constant barrage of misinformation. Kids are watching AI videos and it's fucking up their sense of reality. It dumbs down their social skills "Hey chatgpt, this guy asked me how i'm doing. what should i say?" It's flooding markets with garbage until everyone has no choice but to consume garbage. And if you make games with AI, you're just contributing to the heap.
>>
>>750561364

The lore and concepting is AI and allegedly "transformed" somebody else's concepts when it rebooted, and they got so assmad that instead of actually discussing it, they stalked a student out of college classes irl, started schizo vagueposting and called a 4chan "nono" raid from their twitter

This is why 4chan went down for captcha upgrades in April and why they've been quiet for a year since, presumably trying not to lose collabs and funding due to causing so much noise

Also got a collab with CrossCode and said he was a huge fan, which of course, is why he had to join the server and ask people what the good parts of the game were (They also think he is creepy.)

Which is weird because the game looks fine otherwise, incredibly skilled artists, just fucking weird ass creepy people running it

Of course, this is just marketing them for free at this point but what can ya do

Thanks, man. I would have responded sooner but I passed out early last night. I'll recommend some games just in case you haven't played these...

>Antivirus Survivors 2003 Professional
Nothing novel, but well executed. It's only six bucks and I got nearly 30 hours out of it. I liked the tradeoff of popup windows as you click on files for upgrades. Unfortunately there's meta-progression that feels pointless but you can for the most part ignore it until Protocol IV and V, which are brutal.

>Zexion
The best game inspired by Metroid I've played. The movement tech is all its own and the map layout is so good that any other indie dev making a metroidvania needs to study it intensely. It flows extremely well and even has a built-in randomizer. It's also twin-stick based so you can move and shoot independently, the bosses are more demanding than most metroidvanias.

>Bad Pixels (early access status)
A super low-poly FPS inspired more by the C64. Not enough variety in the mission structure, all you're doing is going around shooting "red hats", but I'm optimistic that as development goes on the game will evolve into something better.

>Acrolyte (Demo)
Another twin-stick game inspired by Metroid. Stellar presentation, although the aiming reticle is cursor based so the game prefers you play with a mouse and keyboard. I did to respect it as it was designed, but when I got to a boss right before the demo ends I caved and switched to a controller. I've seen enough to have faith in it.

>Tabula (Demo, out Nov 3)
A top-down puzzle game where you have to re-arrange the chunks on screen to where the player can collect all the flags and reach the exit in one go. Later levels add more wrinkles to the gameplay.

>Gunlocked/Gunlocked 2
Vertical shmups. On the easy side, but I still had fun because of the distinct weapons that encourage you to move all over the screen. You can make a lot of unique builds.

I don't think Witchfire is going to be under 10USD for quite some time. I recommend pirating it. I also did, but mostly because of my deep-rooted scepticism regarding most new games, even indie. And then I immediately bought it full price because I felt child-like joy playing it, for the first time in ages. I owe my dear Polebros, and I can't fucking wait for the 1.0. The interview with Chmielarz a while back makes me completely manic about the full release

>>
>>750535341
Unfortunately the demo was limited time only, but fortunately the news page suggests that the demo will be back in the future with more content. In the last demo you couldn't finish some quests because they required access to locked areas, and the game blue balled you by ending with the floor 5 boss's intro, so the new demo will probably add some of that and some more of the creepypasta meta horror stuff I'll bet
>>
Great thread, OP. Added probably ten to the wishlist. What are you guys playing lately? Any new good survival horrors? Recently finished:
>Silver Pines
>Hellraiser Revival

>>750555453
Metroidvania:
>Well Dweller (2026, not difficult, relaxing playthrough)
>Fatal Claw (2026, harder than Well Dweller but not Silksong hard or even close, many endings)
>The Last Faith (Great pixel art, some people refer to it as "2D Bloodborne" and there are some similarities)

Survivor style:
>Rogue Genesis (2025, lots of content, different artstyle than most survivor style games)
>Death Must Die (2023, EA, but just started getting updated again recently)

I played a bit of it on gamepass. Extremely pretty, has some neat ideas. The core gimmick is possessing objects but unfortunately the controls for doing so are a little imprecise and get frustrating. What's worse is the isometric view is atrocious for depth perception and there's a lot of puzzles/platforming that require aligning yourself with the environment or with moving projectiles. Can't stress enough how pretty the game is though.

What the heck did you just say about my thread, you little lurker? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Forum Moderation Academy, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on spam rings, and I have over 300 confirmed thread locks. I am trained in keyboard warfare and I’m the top reporter on the entire administrative staff. You are nothing to me but just another rule-breaker. I will wipe your digital footprint out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this board, mark my words.
You think you can get away with bumping a dead thread to page 10 with an inorganic, low-effort "bump" or "same" post? Think again. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of global moderators across the net and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the permanent ban, maggot. The ban that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your account. You’re done, kid. I can be online anywhere, anytime, and I can report you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my macro keys.
Not only am I extensively trained in detecting synthetic engagement, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the Admin Dashboard and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable links off the face of the board, you little rule-breaker. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your lazy habit of dropping raw Steam store links without an ounce of discussion or context was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your tongue and actually written a review. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you absolute novice. I will rain bans all over you and you will drown in them. You’re muted, kiddo.

>>
>>750619920
The problem with freaks like these is they aren't even remotely intelligent enough to avoid the use of hyperbole. You could just say something normal, like, for example:

"These games seem rather similar and I don't think they are distinct enough to be worth my time."

A pretty straightforward and unassailable statement. If you don't like one home renovation show on TLC, you're probably not going to like any home renovation shows on TLC. But freaks just can't engage in normal conversation like that. If they could be normal they wouldn't be freaks. They would same some godforsaken stupid shit like: I refuse to live in a dwelling that has 4 walls and a roof because I don't like home reno shows on TLC. And then I would laugh at them because that is some goddamn funny shit. Freaks are hilarious.

Dev is a terrible perfectionist and has pushed back the release by more than a decade at this point, unfortunately. They to have a page where they posted patch notes for closed builds, but even that hasn't updated in two years now.

Japanese language freeware builds for the game Hakoniwa Explorer Plus - includes a level editor and modding tool made by the dev. It's a very pretty and soulful shitpost game about monter girl butts, highly recommended. Main reason I'm posting it is because getuploader is going down in November, so these files and a shit ton of other jp freeware, mods, and spritesheets hosted there will soon be lost forever.

Deadeye Deepfake Simulacrum
Cool little hacking game that I found via the dev posting webms of himself hacking bullets here. Top down shooter where you can at any point pull out a laptop and hack into anything within line of sight by manually typing in commands
