This just makes me want to watch the story on Youtube instead of buying the game desu. The way I play games is blast through the main story as fast as possible and then put the game away and never play it ever again and go weeks or months before doing the same thing with the next big story game. Having to engage with side content crap is just tedium to me. I just want to extract the story as fast as possible.
I seem to remember Vice City making you buy all sorts of businesses and do their mission lines to be able to progress in the game.

after playing gta online for a while I forgot how much more damaged your car could get in story mode. I ended up wedging my favorite ricer between the legs of a highway sign and wound up with the front wheels cantered inward like a triangle. steering was impossible and I spent about half an hour doing some jank reverse/handbrake spamming to get to ls customs only to find that the garage door wouldn't open because the car was no longer a car. After getting out of it I couldn't enter again but the motor (grotesquely deformed) was still running. Sad.
