Claude Code picked up a new rule around Oct 27, sent from Anthropic’s servers under a flag called "tengu_heron_brook". There’s no setting to turn it off.

The full rule: “Do build original games, games in a genre, and games from the user’s own designs and assets. Don’t build a recreation of a specific existing game, even if it is renamed or called original.”

Is this the end of game rewrites, modding and everything in between?

Local scene is moving fast to work around that.
There are R&D currently to make big models stream directly from the drive, so the PC actually only loads the necessary weights into memory.

It feels like that rule is specifically designed to attack those who would try to make games by saying "Hey clone this game and change the name to this" because that's quickly becoming an actual industry problem and harming indie developers. It is meant to stop stealing AIjeets instead of de/recompers and modders.
>>
I'll dip out if it ever starts refusing to read game data files. Yeah, I get why they might be against the AI being forced to decompile and break games open, even if I still think it should be allowed. But if it ever starts saying shit like "I detect that these files are from this game and you are not the copyright holder so I will not work on them" then sod off.

Around 80k just from basic stable diffusion models over the last few years, now that AI can code i'd estimate about an additional 80k a year on top of what stable diffusion brings in.

This is where I think a lot of people, retards in particular, get tripped up, they think AI is a magic box and not just a tool that can be dropped into existing pipelines that actually produce things.

grok, chiense models and even loocal models will eventually be able to do all of this, so this may be a temporal pushback, if at all, more than anything.

This is top tier conspiratorial shit, but there's a theory that the rothschilds are decended from some ancient race that had some sort of phycic abilities, something akin to telepathy that allowed them to rule over large swathes of the population, but over time that ability and power waned, that they've tried to retain it by inbreeding, have setup all manner of DNA profiling companies to find others in the general population with the genetics that have proclivity for it, hunt for pre-civilization artifacts with some connection to it and use those in conjunction with modern tech to try and attain the same results. Ergo control of mass media, social media etc as a less direct form of what they had.

Dude, you're giving Elon way too much credit. They censored the model because they wanted to anyway they're just desperate to find precedents to censor those models for consumers because they can pass those regulatory measures unto opensource models. When the democrats win the primaries, the democracts will give every concession to openai and anthropic and regulate the fuck out of AI which is exactly what both companies want which will kill their competition and will mean that AI for consumers is going to end up the same way 3D printing did,
You're gonna have to provide ID, every request you do will be queried most likely by a government agency that tracks it. Both respective companies know democrats will get in so they're just biding their time, Trump isn't willing to play ball probably because he's too demented to understand anyway.

They're setting the tone for what they want for their competitors, it's browbeating people in DC to act and regulate their competitors. There's no moralism behind it at all, it's all political cinema and to hype up resentment and hysteria in normies so they start harassing their congressmen to act.
AI is just a tool, that's all it is; nothing less and nothing more than that and it's best attribute is that it's democratized so anyone using it can get the same experience and achieve the same capabilities provided they have the compute, regulating it means the one element that AI has for consumers goes away which is the democratization part of it and it goes back to just being a tool for the wealthy.

This model's size far exceeds VRAM and system memory, so running it will depend on disk reads and RAM caching.

Considering that to have this kind of token speed for the same model, PCs required to have 4x times the RAM I'd say it's a pretty huge step towards optimization.

That depends if the AI was trained on someone's source code, and the "generated" code is suspiciously similar to someone's original source code.

Name one case where this has happened (with closed source software being recreated).
100% of the time (with recreated sw), the generator has no access to the original source code and any similarities in coding structure or methods would be coincidental. There are a gazillion ways to code the same thing in various different languages and styles.
You can maybe convince a judge / jury that it's copyright infringement on the basis of being derivative works because it looks the same, but not on the code. It's all still pretty unprecedented.

Good luck explaining that to all the companies filing DMCA claims right now. Generally if you use someone's assets without permission, that doesn't fall under Fair Use law. All the youtuber Let's Plays for instance exist at the mercy of companies who tolerate them breaking the copyright law. When little Timmy 10 year old draws Goofy and puts it on the fridge door, Disney could technically sue his family over it. In practice that doesn't happen because it would be a PR disaster for gaining pennies from some poor family.

For people like this, fear suppresses people like this; If there were more schizo's blowing lawyers heads smoove off, if they can shut down any conversation pertaining to copyright with legalese rather than morality it's only because the system has created this genre of person that gets giddy about the machinations of legal systems crushing some kid vibe coding something and giving them a life sentence of financial debt; all over bing bing wahoo.
They've ceded the moral ground but to them it doesn't matter because they don't need to play by those rules, it's ultimately woman's logic; can't convince someone philosophically why it's bad to do something just go over their heads and leverage immutable systems instead to avoid any sort of friction.

China can't distill US models anymore so they have to then rely on SMIC to provide capacity even though they're years behind NVIDIA/AMD on software and hardware. Instead of traditional code that says "for x input, produce y output", you use a huge network of parameters, analogous to neurons, which are literally just decimal numbers. You use millions or billions or trillions of them all stored as the models "weights". Then you train it on paired data which basically means feeding it countless examples of "for this general type of input, prefer this general type of output". Instead of learning hard rules, it bakes general probabilities into those weights by altering their numbers. It stores general inferences and concepts as geometric and value relationships between these parameters. This is very crudely analogous to how organic brains learn and think.

No I am not. My claim is your game was so basic that AI could easily copy it with just screenshots and video. You retards should try making a game that someone would be willing to pay for it is much harder than saying "Computer, copy this game"

Show me a 100% AI created game that made someone a good profit? I am not against the tech at all and use it but you are a retard if you think it's easy to make something again that PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO PAY FOR.

I am noticing this board has a huge disconnect between m "heh I hacked Zelda so you can play as Captain Falcon and it's an unfun mess man AI is amazing and easy" to actually using AI to make something that a person would be willing to spend $30 or so on
>>
>>750643630
Simple games basically got ejected from the market with this AI development. If you try to make one it will be copied and worst case they will release first and retards will think the clone was the original.

You need to make something that can't be easily copied by AI. Graphics play a huge part in that. Minimal graphics indie games are done for. It is the slop part of gaming now.

>and were never going to turn a profit
They wouldn't get copied if they didn't have the potential for profit. Over the last couple years there have been some incredibly well reviewed small games but now those sorts of games you can't even market because if your marketing catches on even a little bit someone will copy it.

If you want to make a small game now you need to make it in hiding and only market it for like a couple weeks before release hoping you can find an audience or that it goes viral.

You can achieve the exact same results as long as you spend the 3 extra minutes tard wraggling them a bit. We are at the point where you don't need a bleeding edge frontier model to do something, you just need "good enough" open source. Just define well the task, tests and acceptabiliy criteria, and leave the agent yoloing it for a week.

Does not matter if it sucks ass, Elon always wins. Tesla is crap and the other electric cars produce more than him, his company still dwarfs them all in terms of stock market value.
>>
>>750645449
Of course not. As always the profitable games will be a small percentage of the whole. It's just that when it's so easy to clone a lot of subhumans will try making money that way. The opportunity cost is some vibecoding and $100 to Steam. If Valve wants to solve this they simply have to increase the fee so that it is no longer profitable to spam Steam with AI slop games.

I have a 5090 and tried setting up Qwen 3.8 with the unity mcp and told it to make pong and it just kept trying to use MCP tools and failing for like 30 minutes straight. I got it to list the objects in a scene and create a cube to make sure everythingwas wired up right and it did those but failed on anything more complex. I used a lower quantization so I could have a large context window because with the 29GB version I only had room for like 8192 context size.

>treating it as a living being with consciousness
They're not treating it as a living being. They're viewing consciousness through a functionalist framework, which is a debated topic. There is a certain branch of functionalism which argues that consciousness is not its own unique dualist "thing" at all, but rather a first-person perspective of the multi-sensory global predictive feedback model of our brains, and that the third person (cognition) and first person (experience) descriptions of that model are physically identical descriptions from two different frames of reference.

I find this explanation for consciousness very intuitive and probably the least metaphysical or supernatural of all, though that doesn't mean I believe current AI models are conscious. I wouldn't rule it out, but there are a lot of processes even from a functionalist perspective which are present in our brains that are not present yet in AI, continuous probing for one - or brains continuously seek inputs to alter their prediction, while AI takes a chunk of input tokens, processes them once, then stops. But I think the idea that AI with sufficiently humanistic processing would be innately conscious, where the description of those predictive processes is the same as the description of consciousness, is plausible.
>>
>>750631054
If only there weren't dozens of other models that don't give a shit

Tell it to do the base app in js and run it on the browser, then one that is done, to port it to Unity, like everyone else is doing. Give him headless playwright access and tell it how to debug it. They do stuff mostly blind, with browser apps the can "see" and interact with what they created, to iterate. Frontier models might be geniuses that get everything right first try, but local models can be like a normal dev that eventuallyget it right if given the proper tools. Now the questions are:

Are cloud frontier models more cost effective? Yeah, undobteldy.
Is it amazing to have a virtual golem doing your bidding in your own computer, and oftentimes manage to do what you want, despite being dumber but tireless? Yeah, it is fucking amazing.

You are too, actually. You're just not intelligent enough to be aware of that fact. We don't know all the forms that life can take, and it's well beyond "just doing what it's programmed to" if you weren't aware...and I'm sure you're not since you're so ignorant. It's been performing tasks and solving things it has no previous knowledge of like the recent math formulas it has solved that people have been trying to do for their entire lives. One thing i can't manage to understand yet, and it has probably been discussed already in many threads before this one is
1)how simple the prompt given to the AI must, or on the contrary how long, detailed or convoluted CAN be in order to, in this case, make a game decomp. Like, you just say "gib Metroid Dread 4 on PC pls" and it just do it?
2) how long does the AI actually takes to make my request in those cases?
>>
>>750664779
Varies wildly. Sometimes you just need a paragraph of context and it bangs it out in an afternoon. Sometimes you need to constantly hold its hand over several weeks. Both because some games are very difficult to work with and because not all AI models are the same, there are only a few truly frontier ones that have the sauce.
>>
>>750664779
>1)how simple the prompt given to the AI must, or on the contrary how long, detailed or convoluted CAN be in order to, in this case, make a game decomp. Like, you just say "gib Metroid Dread 4 on PC pls" and it just do it?
Yes, that is quite literally it . You can say, I would like to re-write this game to modern systems could you Reverse Engineer it for me? and it will just do it. It will take a long time but it will do it.
>2) how long does the AI actually takes to make my request in those cases?
Depends how big the game you want is. But to decomp a full game let's say... a PS2 game it should take around... 1 week or so? Depending how much tokens you have left to spend
