does preem mean mid?
>>750677945I don't remember the last time /v/ hivemind was right about anything. It's easy to hate vidya today because of the state it's in so /v/ doesn't get credit for that.
>>750677945its alright, played it 2-3 times, but still havent bothered going back since the DLC came outjust kind of soulless compared to witcha 1-3 (the ugly american setting doesnt help with that though)
>>750677945cyberpunk 2077 is legit one of the best open world action RPGs ever made, /v/jeets only play gashit and coomer bait games.
>>750678203youre 100% right. i dont know how it happened but after a few years of hating on everything something in me just switched, and i realize i was denying myself so many enjoyable things, not even just vidya. but im just gonna get called a lying troon anyway
/v/ largely just uses >muh shitty launch and>it wasn't the game they promised way back in 2012 and>its just like GTAas eternal stars to follow for why the game is supposedly bad while ignoring the reality of game development and all the post-launch patches and the dlc
>>750677945It's another Far Cry 3 clone like a dozen other games
>Love eating literal shit>Bite into a turd>Its deliciousI dont know what you people are on about.
>>750678435Because you are lying. No one masculine enjoys this shit. Youre all trannies or low test.
A lot of people here actually like the game. You just don't see much positive discussion of new games in general anymore because it always gets overshadowed and drowned out by the highly dedicated shitposters that will post in bad faith until everyone gets bored of it and fuck off.
This game altered by vocabulary for a couple months. Only game where the futuristic slang doesn't feel cringe.
>>750678497The game is ok for what it is but the blatant and intense lying from before release should not be forgiven. This game was supposed to have branching storylines and crunchy rpg mechanics. The only branching storylines are the ones from the 2 quests they showed before release.Their patching has honestly not fixed shit. I'm someone who played at release and encountered almost no bugs. What have they even added? Some convenience features? The game doesn't even have unscripted car chases.
>>750678274It feels more like Neo Tokyo than California (if we’re forgetting about 50% of the characters) thoughbeit
>>750678974You've been whining about this for six years now. SIX YEARS. Yes, we get it, the game didn't do what the marketing promised. Welcome to video game marketing, everyone else stopped giving a fuck five years ago, just your autistic ass cannot let go.
>game is mid>make anime to get goy to buy game thinking that game is like anime (its mot its meh)>do it twice>works twice
>>750677945It was fun to parkour in. And then once I completed all the quests I ended up playing it like GTA. It’s actually kinda fun when your police notoriety reaches the peak because you get to go up against those heavily augmented super cops (forgot their name) and it proves to be a real fun challenge. It does get easier once you have a good katana and the sandevistan augmentation.
I barely remember anything from this game. I remember jackie plots, panam’s fat ass, that nude bitch in the tub, johnny bombing the tower, kidnapping the sexy jap bitch, and thats all.
>>750679190the first season didnt even look good, ill admit the second one looks like it could be good though
>>750678974>What have they even added? Some convenience features? They've overhauled several of the core systems that use to severely impede the flow of character progression and build development>The game doesn't even have unscripted car chases.Yes it does
>>750679210>those heavily augmented super cops (forgot their name)maxtac
>>750679298That’s them. They were tougher “bosses” than any of the story ones, which sucked mind you.
>>750678613okay. enjoy refreshing the catalogue to find things that trigger you
Glad I didn't pick it up at launch because the shit was unplayable. Now it's addicting.
>>750679190its funny how people who havent played it keep parroting this over and over. the game was "fixed" by the time the first anime came out, it just convinced a huge surge of people to give it another chance
>>750679501The anime came out at 1.6. The schizophrenic perk system of pre 2.0 was still out and the game's looting and crafting systems were god awful slogs where you had to use some random garbage you didn't like or craft the same gun over and over because you needed a specific damage type. Not to mention that iconic you like was going to become worthless in 10 levels.
>>750677945I liked the game at launch. Have yet to play the DLC though, will do that soon.
>>750679190I'll admit the anime is what got me into the game, but the game is better than the anime because I actually get to PLAY it.
>>750678435you were basically reddit but the opposite where instead of being relaxed and trying stuff out by yourself and see if you end up liking it you became one of those yelling meme heads for one reason or another. very bad habit when combined with reddit or 4chan.
I feel like instead of having to wait for a lock on, Smart guns should have an expanded reticle where you still have to aim roughly where you want to shoot but the bullets will correct themselves to hit approximately the point where you were aiming at to produce a much more forgiving aiming experience compared to Power guns. Something more analogous to smart weapons in 2020 or cpRED. With perks simply improving the size of this reticle more and more based on the player's actions.I really dislike things like the ricochet system of power weapons or the KNEEL! Mod on a shotgun rewarding the player for aiming at the dirt instead of the weakpoints or at least a meaty torso shot. It feels very dumb
>Played it a few months after it came out, before the full rework and the anime>Fun as fuck>Play it again now>Still fun and with more things to doCan't wait to see what happens when the mod train gets really moving
I'll never trust anyone who sings this game's praises. The writing is abysmal, simply dogshit. Can't take anything in the game seriously when the writing in an rpg is cringeworthy
>>750680814the writing is ok for a game, it's just not very compelling, really no reason to care about anything happening in it
>>750680814>The writing is abysmal, simply dogshitdogshit how?
>>750680814what about trying things yourself? wish I wasn't replying jokingly btw
>>750680814Examples?
>>750678974>The game doesn't even have unscripted car chases. One of the big parts of 2.0 was the inclusion of car combat including ambient car chases
>>750680895>the writing is ok for a gameI hate this excuse, because it has forever made the implication that video game writing should be held to a lower standard, or that audiences should applaud substandard writing. >>750680948made me lol
>>750681097poat webm
>>750677945It's a generic ubislop open world game.
>>750680948There is very little investigation into the purpose or meaning behind almost any of the antagonists regarding quests, both story and side. Often they plainly just tell you straight up that they are doing X because of incredibly selfish and unabashedly reason Y or you read one email/text that says they're basically demon incarnates. The three (3) quests that break this mold involve multiple endings based on your actions that all lead to the exact same general resolution so ultimately it never matters what you do, or why you do anything. The road only takes you to one place.
>>750681160no it's just that most games have much worse writing than cyberpunk, look at how bad BG3's writing is for example
>>750677945I'm glad that I'm not a GTAfag nor a consolefag because I got the game I (mostly) wanted out of CP2077 at launch on my PCStill, the updates and the DLC especially made it better
>>750678274The DLC is actually really good.
>>750681040I did>>750681059The baseline tone of writing is that of a juvenile who still snickers when he hears the word "cock". When the game attempts gravitas, tries to elicit profundity of emotion, like Johnny's "fighting the forces of entropy" speech, or sinnerman's philosophy, or the heart-to-heart with skye, the writing is simply flat and predictable. It's like tasking a high schooler to write the character of an old man at death's door, what he would say, what regrets he would have. A child will never be able to verbalize anything profound because a child does not have the lived experience to say anything profound, so anything he does write will come off as naive. That's what the game's writing is like. TL;DR: polish retards can't write, sincerely, a slav
>>750681168Just look it up on youtube, it was like one of the main selling points of the update outside of the skills and cyberware being revamped. Some cars have built in weapons too.
>>750681556idris elba facescan put me off playing itidris is such an overhyped mid actor
>Games gives so many perk points you can go 20/20/20/18/3It's a very weird spread. I get people like mix and matching and I certainly appreciate being able to pick some of the quality of life perks in something like Reflex later in the game, but in my experience I generally don't want to leave my core attribute at all until it's maxed out so I'm mostly just upping the Attribute I want to be able to roleplay as.
>>750681610you can kill him
>>750679213That's what happens when you pause every few minutes to watch tiktoks. I bet you second screened twitch streams while you played too
>>750681296Only game that made me feel something through the writing was planescape torment, and that's hardly even a game.
>>750681646interesting, im assuming that happens late rather than early though?
>>750678497I have never seen a single piece of compelling gameplay and I cannot be added to pirate it either.
>>750681585I like how your critique of the writing was just to say variations of "It's childish" three times in a row, without actually dissecting or analyzing any lines, just citing a scene and insisting it's bad.
>>750681610He's alright in it even though I also think he's overrated as an actor. The real breakout character is Songbird. I'll echo that anon and say that the DLC is really, really good. Pretty much everything about it is a huge improvement over the base game, I kinda wish we got at least one more DLC of that caliber.
>>750681607>Just look it up on youtubeso you don't even play the game you are advertising on my board?
>>750681716Yeah, you meet up with him halfway through the story and about 2/3rds through you can side with either him or another character then the main mission diverges significantly and in one of the paths you can choose to kill him.
>>750681716>>750681883He's a glowie and you can basically give him shit for the entire time though.

>>750677945is the game actually good I only played like 10hrs when it launched
>tfw it has cross-save so I got the switch 2 version on sale.Fuck it lads, I will double dip on games this way if it offers cross-save, getting witcher III next, any other games that let's me use the same save file from steam on the Switch 2?
>>750681750Yes, variations, or in other terms, multiple examples. We're on 4chan, if I hypothetically say that sinnerman's explanation of his ethos feels extremely underwhelming because "if infinite love exists so must a god" is a lousy representation of christian epistemology and his entire rationale thereafter is weak, all it takes is for some random to say "nuh uh I thought it was good". So it's really pointless to go into details.
>>750682101To be fair, the coof kind of fucked things in particular for them. It probably would have been a bad launch regardless but I feel having to deal with a year of that bullshit ended up making it a whole lot worse than it needed to be and probably fucked up a lot of their initial plans for post-launch support. Witcher 3 also had some issues at launch but it was nowhere near as bad so I lean on assuming a lot of the problems stemmed from that.
>>750677945I pirated it and it's irremediable dogshit.
>>750682351the company also went public after TW3 released
>>750682095patheticso the game sucks so bad you are not even willing to open it for 10 minutes
>>750681296Ehh... I prefer bg3 writing over Cyberpunk, much more reactivity and dialogue is more interesting.Idk but i didn't like Jackie, and Johnny was too edgy. The romances were solid but not that memorable. The story & its themes were good but they sit on the lower end for Cyberpunk, i pretty much prefer GITS, Blade Runner and Deus Ex over it. Cyberpunk has too much irrelevant dialogue choices, and the RPG part of the dialogue was weak, in the sense that a dialogue options can alter a situation, it didn't capitalize well on that. felt too shallow.
>>750682535>Idk but i didn't like Jackie, and Johnny was too edgy. The romances were solid but not that memorable. The story & its themes were good but they sit on the lower end for Cyberpunk, i I agree, but I could discount all that if the game had more systems keeping the world alive. I feel it's stale as fuck. Enemies just keep there waiting for you, the AI feels retarded quite often. Man, I truly hope AI fixes the game since anyone with a good idea, some money and a nice attitude can fix it.
>>750682424Why does it need to be from *my* gameplay if footage exists? I don't want to spend 10 minutes on any game to make a webm just to prove a point when I can just point at shit already uploaded.
>>750682717so they don't even give you a key to the game they pay you to advertisethat's really sad hope you can renegotiate your employment terms
>>750682424Based Chad bully
>>750682535They really should have done more to make V feel like his own proper character, but him being sort of a cardboard cut out is a result of initially promising and planning for a bunch of life paths, which even long before launch I thought was going to be a mistake instead of just making him a straightforward Solo, at least narratively. If a game isn't a CRPG with a party of supporting members, I really don't care for the blank slate idea for an MC.While stat checks and dialogue are fairly few and far between, I find that at least Body and Int are fairly decent for making V look competent, but Reflex and Cool are generally crap with Reflex typically make some random comment or snide remark where as Cool feels ironic half the time since the "Cool" things V says make him sound like a huge fag.
>>750682697They should keep the same map and improve upon it, like what Nintendo did with Breath of the Wild. Although Nintendo just decided to make it big and recycle ten times more. CDPR should just keep the same map of Night City and add more depth into it, make it more alive and dynamic.CDPR are good writers but they make a lot of fluff dialogue that feels like (explain more to me) rather than (let me roleplay) and also the IP itself is kinda shallow. With all respect to Mike Pondsmith but he isn't that good at writing.
>>750682835I think Cyberpunk's definition of what is considered "cool" was always meant to be kinda faggy and that was part of the charm. It comes across as being intentionally tryhard.
>>750677945if you're impressed with this game, you either don't play a lot of games or you don't have standards. it's barely average, at best
I for one dont understand why people who dont like a game want to discuss them not liking game 6 years post launch. I dont care about your opinions, no one does. You're insane.Have you considered doing anything with your life, like, play a different game and talk about that, read a book, watch anime, go outside, start a family, etc.
>>750683063I have no idea how the OG material is, but I think they did great, at least when it comes to worldbuilding. There's a certain verisimilitude, or perhaps cohesiveness about the world that I quite like it. I hope they don't rehash Night City too much and come up with different stuff in Chicago, but the true way to improve upon and deliver on the promises of CP77 indeed is to keep the map, for as much as possible.
>>750683421>start a family
>>750681097having actually played this pile of shit, I can inform anyone curious that these "car chases" are alpha-quality shit that usually ends with the AI participants having a halfassed fight while simultaneously reaching the end of their ability to function correctly. it's pretty pathetic, like most of the little features they've tried to hack in here and there
>>750677945ive been telling you its a masterpiece since day one
>>750683421I think I see your confusion; you don't know what discussion is. If you walk into a room and say "everyone told me this game sucks actually it rules" then you are going to get some unfavorable responses. Even if you walk into a room and say "hello I would like to have a big circle jerk about my favorite game" you will get some unfavorable responses. Maybe start a discord that only has die hard Cyberpunk 2077 fans in it if you don't want to actually hear people's opinions
>want to play it all the way through>have to do the intro I've done twice and dropped itI forgot what even happened in game so I'd have to start over doing shit I already did.
>>750677945cyberpunk 2077 is a great game if you're a glop redditor, tranny, or person who does drugs and has tattoos.all with iqs in the 90-110 range
I think they should swap Power Weapons "niche" away from the Ricochet thing and instead give them Ammo types or firing modes you can freely switch between. Tech and Smart guns are good at what they do but I don't enjoy charging up shots in a shooter, and while I like smart guns in conjunction with hacks I like more "honest" gunplay. I love the way the perk system rewards specific style of playing but the weapon trees being limited to narrow categories definitely hurt early game variety.
>>750677945The game was pretty fucking bad on launch, they did massive overhauls to all gameplay systems. All those skill trees are new features.
Its one hundred percent worth a playthrough and maybe worth two. But after the second playthrough I can't be arsed to sit through that long ass five hour prologue before you can actually explore the city and after 2.0 they really fucked over the stealth quickhacking. I want to be able to play the game the way I want to play it from the very beginning I don't want to have to wait until I have cash and rep to install the cyberdeck I need to stealth quickhack and kill everybody without ever firing a shot. I preferred the game in 1.5 honestly
>>750683679No. You can just skip that.
>>750683679If you're talking about pre-Phantom Liberty, you can now skip the entire Arasaka heist portion of the game. You miss very little decision-making (and decision making basically doesn't matter in this game anyway) so if you already own the game + PL it's a no brainer
>>750683603Discussion relies on people having accurate up to date information, shared philosophy of what discussion is, what playing a game means and suchSo if someone plays cp on a modern pc fully to completion and you have opinions about it, great. We share relevant understanding of what the game is today, what playing is with our similar computer, we likely share some sort of living standards and morals which make discussion easier. What you're proposing isn't discussion, its an unhinged bot repeating an algorithm ruining discussion for people who play videogames.
>>750683874"What I'm proposing?" What the fuck are you talking about? Some people played your game on PCs better than yours, they didn't like it, and they're entitled to their opinion and will share it on a forum if you ask them to. Which you do, by starting threads. If you can't deal with it, make better OPs than this, or alternatively, fuck off
>>750683764No. That was a good change. Even now Hacking is too strong in the late game. Honestly direct damage and instant knock outs should be remove from hacking entirely unless you fulfill some requirements like how System Shock becomes much more affordable after a take down. They should immensely flesh out environmental control and enemy behavior manipulation. The whole point of having Int and Hacking is using your hacks to facilitate the ability to fulfill multiple playstyles and approaches to a level you're not technically specialized in. Having access to an instant knock out against anything you look at is dumb.
>>750677945The like jargon in this game is so unbelievably awful and cringy that I have to stop paying attention to anyone who uses it. I tried to watch the first season of the anime when it came out and the subtitles were just dubtitles and I dropped it. Disgusting westoid shit, sounds like what 35+ year old wine aunts would think sounds cool.
>>750684000what a wonderful cp discussions you must be having in your reality
>>750677945Great game. Just took about three years of patches to become that way.
>>750684143
>>750683445>I hope they don't rehash Night City too much and come up with different stuff in ChicagoThey'd kind of have to unless they go totally off the rails from the established canon. A barely rebuilt city in the NUSA, located far further north, can't realistically have even remotely the same vibe. That'd be a huge failure.
I feel like there should be a late game shotgun with a stock and a fat drum magazine and an insane rate of fire without sacrificing much damage. Phantom Liberty gave ARs got the Hercules, Sniper Rifles got two prototypes, Pistols had the Malorian. Shotguns have Ba Ching Xong but that more of a rocket launcher. I feel like shotguns missed out and of course LMG variety is pathetic.
>>750681273This isn’t an investigation game. You’re not a detective.

>>750678435The problem isn’t in liking cyberpunk. The problem is in enabling CD Projekt Red’s anti consumer practices and setting a worse precedent. You can enjoy the game for what it is and demand better.
>>750684610Oh, definitely the AGP mod then (Immersive First Person)
>>750684263>You’re not a detective.
>>750679169> Welcome to video game marketing, everyone else stopped giving a fuck five years ago, just your autistic ass cannot let go.Why should the consumer let it go? They were lied to. There’s a major difference between lying about a game being the best ever vs downright selling a game that doesn’t exist. You’re well within your right to love the current game and IP as is, but you should demand better if you want a better game. What’s the harm in having a good Cyberpunk sequel that is more like what they promised?
>>750684924The people who are still whining about the prerelease marketing for the first game are not looking for a better sequel. They just want to whine because they're whiners.
>>750682697>I feel it's stale as fuckNot him but I super agree with this, I like this game but the open world definitely feels dead. Besides various flavors of quests there's nothing to do just walking around. All these casinos, strip clubs, shady nightclubs, etc and you can't enter 99% of them. And the ones you can enter are only there for a specific quest. The whole city just kinda feels like set dressing with no interactivity.I also think the game would be massively improved with some skyrim-style random encounters, like getting jumped in the street by a mugger, having people trying to break into your parked car, people approaching you asking for an autograph (after you get to a certain reputation level, etc). Like that 'quest' where you get robbed in a diner or the clothing store you visit that gets attacked by a cyberpsycho, would have been a lot more fun if they weren't obviously marked as quests on the map ahead of time. Just anything to make the city feel more unpredictable and alive would go a long way.
>>750677945ngl, definitely a game worth 1-2 playthroughs. It's unironically a better story+immersive-sim type game, rather than being known as something like an open-world sandbox. There's enough role-playing elements to call it an RPG, but ultimately your character will always be a teminally-ill V. the 2.0 update made combat a ton more fun and the game in general feels more well-rounded, enjoy OP

this game was released when the fastest cpus in the world had 4-6 cores. your game was released in the era of 32 core threadrippers, surely it has superior gameplay physics?
>>750685129While nu-Deus Ex is far from perfect, I wonder if it hits the balance of im-sim vs. action game a little bit better? 2077 has all these traits of a more action/gameplay-oriented game, and has a true open world, whereas something like Human Revolution or MD had simpler gameplay and smaller, more tightly-designed maps and hubs. That seems like a better fit for a story-driven experience
>>750677945gonna play this tonight I was forced to pirate it cause steam wants my CC
>>750677945It's boring dogshit in general and overused dialogue that gives no actual real choice with dealing with any consequences. What the fuck are you doing night city beside outside mission? Think about how 0 people have ever romanced Judy and river or panam and kerry at the same time for that jeet code to still be in the game. >Wade through sea of depreciated body replacers, outfit refits, and physics mods to find one that still work and work together >Lizzie's braindances is crashing the game atm and that's the big sex mod that does more than play the prostitute sex animations it's still basically just the prostitute sex animations >Dark futures for survival mechanics that add minor consequences to taking 90,000 points of damage in an in game day without sleeping or doing some drugs. (Might also be broken now, didn't check) >Atelier shop for custom outfit purchasing interface >3rd person mod I assume is broken and neither are all that good, but better than forced Skyrim first person while wandering around there isn't much really. A lot of old mods became update content and custom weapons are rare/non-existent. Sluttier npcs and better panam/Judy are half the load order of a modlist.

GuysI really want to fuck Capri>>750698130Morgan Blackhand was not even allowed in the cyberpunk videogame because Mike Pondsmith feels weird about having his character interpreted by someone else. It's never happening. Techincally edgerunners itself is a genious move for collabs as it allows for anime games to have anime characters from it instead of mishmashing artstyles. They clearly care about it which is why no CP2077 character shows up in edgerunners and viceversa, it's only telephone voices in the new update. Sadly western companies who jump on the hype train though want to larp as animes and do butchered interpretations of the anime characters instead of asking for Panam or something
>>750701228You are agreeing with me. No reason for you to be hostile about anything.
>>750701321I'm not. Just because Sony is even more retarded doesn't mean you know shit.
>>750687491I actually felt closer to the opposite. I feel that the tier 1/2 guns were generally okay proxies to real world modern firearms you'd find in use by gangs, but I was hoping that by Tier 4/5 you would start getting more exotic and advanced guns taken out of Corpo Armories that more explicitly require cyberware to operate properly. Instead they mostly stayed analogous with conventional fire arms unless they were tech/smart.
>>750701361>everyone knows when something is going to flop>sony didnt know look at maratroon>HUH YEAH AND MORBIUS FLOPPED TOO SONY IS RETARDEDYou are agreeing with me.
I liked the story and combat/stealth mechanics, but the open world hurts the experience by being far too static with nothing organic happening. It only works if you go straight from mission to mission and don't pay any attention to the world around you.
>>750701068>you can do whatever the fuck you wantOk I choose to complain about the story and how it leaves a negative impression on every choice irrelevant from this life or death situation. It turns out that context matters. I also choose to turn off the game.>bro it's WEEKS bro just ignore the motivation behind anything you're doing bro just turn your brain off
>>750701287>Mike Pondsmith feels weird about having his character interpreted by someone else. It's never happening.Several pre-existing characters are already present in CP2077 and Pondsmith worked extensively with the studio developing the game. He's said his agreement means CDPR can't use Blackhand as a character without explicit approval by Mike but aside from that nothing he's said implies he never wants Morgan to appear in the videogame.
>>750677945Do you need mods to play this shit or is it fine to play vanilla?
>ping enemies>tech gun spampeak lazy mode
>>750701564>Do you need mods to play this shit or is it fine to play vanilla?IMO you SHOULD do vanilla on your first playthrough.
>>750701534We all know the reason he's not in is because they want him to be the central character in the next game like Johnny and Reed were in 2077 and they want a similarly high profile actor to play him. What they said about the next setting being "chicago gone wrong" also fits him. Sadly Bruce Willis is out of the question now, wonder who they could get. Maybe Josh Brolin?
this was epic
>>750701490The world isn't great for just wandering aimlessly but I think there is enough window dressing as you walk along that the setting feels passable alive, the issue is that you can't interfere or interact with it and it never interferes with you much either, outside of cops showing up when you accidently blast some kid's mom during a firefight. I think it's ridiculous there isn't a single mission where Trauma Team shows up after you kill one of their clients, particularly when dealing with corpo types. The other day I was surprised to see a completely random event where a Trauma Team AV pulled up next to a highrise, unloaded a shit tonne of gunfire on one of the floors, flew in and flew away, presumably with their client. It was a nice little thing to see, but again, this is window dressing more than anything
>>750701564Every single mod is just AGP enabling shit anyway.
>>750701490the open world is clearly just there to immerse you along the main story, you do a couple of side quests/hunts some people down/drive around from place to place and then you complete the game and youre done. it's clearly just suppose to be a linear game that you aren't suppose to really play forever.
>>750701564CDPR's development process for this game has essentially been to slowly incorporate major mods into the game properly, and generally do so with a bit more quality and detail than a single modder can do which is nice. At this point, several of the must have mods from around 2.0 are already implemented. There are still some nice mods that give a bit more oomph like the Gang Wars mods that makes the gangs feel much more alive and active outside of their Gigs.
>>750701743>Every single mod is just AGP enabling shit anyway. There are some good ones that greatly improve the game, like enhanced weather effects.
>>750701819The problem with this approach is the multitude of quests you lose by playing like this. Some important too. I was cleaning up jobs and more and more kept appearing. But yeah, the open world is quite bad I would be perfectly fine with a level selection screen in a hud in v apartment like in No More Heroes 2 or something. To me the problem mostly lies in driving in streets being way more tedious and uninteresting than the open fields of Witcher 3 or RDR2. I had the same problem with GTA5 actually
>>750677945Only thing I liked was hacking cameras and going from one to the next marking dudes and causing things to a-splode. Reminded me of the only thing I liked from Watchdogs.
>>750701687>Thanks CDPR... I feel represented... She's... me...
>>750701934Driving around the city is peak SOVL
>>750677945Repeating the same thing I've always said: The intro made me want to refund it. Exploring on my own made me realize this was a great game.
>>750702060Maybe if the streets were actually functional and I wouldn't have pedestrians gluing themselves to my car causing all cops to follow me or other cars having blind drivers who can't see the light is green
>>750702178I literally have no idea what you're talking about.
>>750700632True. But every game has its flaws, mate. Looking past the dissonance was worth it for me.
>>750702060NTA, some parts of the city are much better than others in regards to sight seeing and vibes. City Center, Japantown, Heywood are great. It's good that the city has some industrial sprawl but I think the developers made a mistake adding a big suburban area and the badlands.I remember Sunfags from before launch, they had something of a point but always for the wrong reason. Even Neuromancer has writing that references that cities like Chibi mutate from a lightshow of Neon Lights at night into something like a pile of sunbleached bones in the day. That is part of the dichotomy so daytime stuff is fine, the issue is that the game spends too much time outside of the city's heart. If the time taken to add those areas was instead diverted to expanding on the verticality and feeling of density in the game's better areas I think CP2077 would have been better off for it.
>>750702172I say that too. The actual gameplay is amazing but man, do i ever hate that story. Holy shit. The first mission you go on to save whatsherface is good, I like that. All the missions leading up to the heist are fucking brutal and all the ones after except for the last one are even worse.
>>750702647maybe you just don't like RPGs?
>>750702763I like role playing in my RPGs, not watching semi interactive cutscenes where the characters take 50 years to make even the most minor movements.Going through the forced BD training, even though you tell it to skip, is more painful than pulling teeth.
>>750702763NTA. It's liking RPGs that make the gigs underwhelming in the base game. The DLC is better in that regard. Since many gigs are often relegated to a single building with maybe 2 stories and under a dozen enemies your builds don't have as much room to shine and the alternative routes in the gigs are generally pretty underwhelming, like forcing open a back door or being able to jump up to a balcony for a shortcut. In Phantom Liberty gigs often take place over much larger areas with more unique problems and solutions and often come with a moral conundrum near the end you can give input on and effect.
>>750700981Yeah I never understood why everyone takes Vik's immediate diagnosis to heart. Like sure, he's damn good at what he does, but at the same time it's not like he has a lot of medical case studies of "the digital ghost of a Rockstar/Terrorist is taking over someone's brain while he is still alive" to draw from either.
>>750702647The developers overtuned way too much after they got the feedback of very few people going through until the end of Witcher 3 and rushed the main story way too much even if you were to include the optional Panam/Rogue/Kerry/Judy quests as main story the pacing is still fucked. The Nomads take up way too much time and the Vodoo boys and Evelyn are rushed as fuck by comparison. This leads to core night city to feel like the peripheral part of the game while the badlands are, in fact, where you spend most of your time in. Part of this problem is, in fact, due to te game's plot being built on the urgency to remove Keeanu Reeves from living rent free in your head. Act1 with Jackie really should have been not a prologue but an entire first act. The game really should be structured like this:Act 1 - Jackie, same plot some more story quests, game forces you at least 2 ingame weeks to explore in this city state. Badlands and Pacifica are not available but you can go outside watson otherwiseAct 2 - Johnny: Vodoo/Panam/Rogue where /V/ doesn't know he is dying. At least 2 months in-game must pass. Act 3: Takemura and ending this is where the game tells you your time is over and Takemura contacts you for the Hanako haste. This is the aprt where they should reallys tart rushing you to the end.Phantom Liberty should add an act 2.5 of about one month in-game time. If you don't like the time-gating idea to force you not to rush through, then tie it to street cred or level progression.

I don't like how the world/loot/rewards/shop gear strictly level around the player, it's so casualised and immersion breaking. I think it's a really good game but there are a lot of things about it that bother me. What stood out the most iirc was>unkillable irl influencers and youtubers>lack of life sim activities (city is huge and incredible looking but there's almost nothing to do in it besides combat, even the street racing side quest has to be about a story about a tranny psycho instead of just street racing). Could have had gambling, yakuza style minigames, dating, 1 minute short films with those replayable vr things, some kind of sport, etc>narrative implies an urgent ticking clock, which was actually a cool story, but disincentivises doing ANYTHING apart from racing to heal yourself making side quests awkward from an immersion standpoint>"hey guys we got idris elba! and Keanu Reeves!">romance options are disappointing>some of the quests are cringe>The RPG elements are always tempting you to stop the action in order to loot a weapon with 0.2% more damage than your current one, either go full rpg or full action fps. >>750710863no i'm not gonna agree with this retarded fucking take, deus ex level design is good, but that doesn't mean level based is just fundamentally better, it just means deus ex is good. the world for cyberpunk provides the immersion that the devs clearly want you to partake in. it could be better if it had stalker's a-life in it but so would every single open world game in existence.
>>750711843I love the game and I agree.turret sections and riding shotgun moments are the weakest parts of this game, or any fucking game in general. I hope the sequels gets rid of them.

Reminder what they took from youhttps://youtu.be/vjF9GgrY9c0?si=9U1wsi1UMoinehFS
>>750710908This is my biggest issue with the game. Its edging on verge of being 10/10 masterpiece, but it falls short on so many simple things that just take you out of it.- Add a handful of dynamic interactions in the world, so all NPCs arent just standing around- Make generic shops available: El Dorado Pawn Shop should function as generic garbage vendor. These already exist in-game. It feels weird that 99% of shops arent accessible. Recycle interiors with minor changes if necessary.- Improve how generic non-combat NPCs act. They should be able to enter buildings and interact with generic street vendors. I dont give a fuck if the guy entering a building has an invisible wall preventing you from entering: I just want the illusion that the buildings are actual buildings someone can enter/exit
>>750711843This is what stops me from replaying it, I gave it two plays (one was Phantom Liberty) where I did pretty much all there was to do. Usually I'll return to a game like that at some point but I won't with 2077 and the two main reasons are how dead the game world is and all the walk and talk/drive and talk sections that are so relentlessly dull and padded out
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enpgxaWtW30mod that adds capri
>>750710125The issue is that its so blatantly smokes and mirrors. All games are, but you HAVE TO MAKE AN EFFORT. For such a great overworld, NPCs being such obvious bots are an issue that detracts the graphically 10/10 world into 6,5/10. Have them exit and enter buildings. Have them interact with vendors pretending to buy something. Have them interact with eachother beyond just scripted "these 2 npcs are here talking to eachother". Have interactive world events like gangs fighting eachother, a car fleeing from NCPD, guys fleeing an alleyway voicing how they were lucky to flee from cops/another gang, NPCs ordering cars like you do, NPCs getting angry about you bumping into their car and getting out for fisticuffs, have hidden sidequests triggered by being in place X and so much more. The game feels more like a static 3d model instead of actual world. Like the other anon said, look at RDR2 for how to make much better open world.

Cyberpunk is so popular and loved that threads can last days lol It must be a really great game with a lot of fun gameplay lololololol
>>750712959the sarcasm is clear, but yes, it is one of those games that has a rabid cult primarily because its most diehard fans have internalized a much more impressive and interesting version of it than the actual product. this is pretty common with games that had much more potential than was realized. as a great man once said, "many such cases"that said, I hope Orion sucks less. as someone who was very disappointed with, but still played 2077, I wonder how many people are like me: not willing to be an embarrassing cultist apologist for 2077 but also willing to give CDPR the benefit of the doubt and entertain the idea that Orion will be a better attempt. maybe it's too charitable, but 2077 felt like they were trying a lot of things that were new to them, and now they've at least had the chance to learn a bit
>>750713514Phantom Liberty improved over base game in a lot of aspects, they are moving in right direction
>>750713514orion having a heavy focus on multiplayer already makes me think it's going to be dogshit
>>750713873I don't think Orion will have a "heavy focus" on multiplayer. A job kisting saying knowledge in an area is a "bonus" us nit an indication the entire gane will be bent towards that. It'll likely just be a co-op option
>>750714728Though I do wonder how that would play out with how extensive the various time stop mechanics are. I guess the whole group could share the effect but just those with the implant would move fast
>>750715145seen coop implementation in cp77 and it looked fine for sandevistan but netrunning will have to be move to real time
>>750715425so that just means you'll likely be limited to 4 equipped quickhacks at a time
>>750715634or netrunners will have to actually learn to play the game
>>750715425>>750715749Honestly it'd be a good thing if we lost the complete time stop when trying to hack. I always thought it was fairly egregious and took away a good chunk of tension. I also think Netrunner hacks should move away from direct damage or the instant knockouts. I really love the playstyle of hacking for the utility and having to figure out how best to use the area in conjunction to debuffing the enemy to make up for my lack of super speed/invincibility and the ability to dodge/tank most damage. For Multiplayer in any perspective sequel, I think the smart thing to do would be to have a Single Player experience that's totally isolated and lets you design your own character freely, but then with multiplayer you're given an archetype who can only take perks and Cyberware from a specific Attribute. As a squad you then go revisit redesigned areas players might have experienced in the base game but altered slightly to better facilitate or demand teamwork.
Also I think the cyberdecks have to get reworked to be slightly more specialized and niche but for that specialization to feel much better and for each one to feel attractive based on what playstyle you're trying to accommodate. As is Tetratronic Rippler is way too strong and just sort of trounces all the others because it's generalists bonuses are so massive they overshadow the benefits of the other's specialization. It's also stupid the Iconic Cyberdecks are just sort of ass and don't have Overclock abilities. The Canto in particularly is horrifically disappointing.
>>750716219>would be to have a Single Player experience that's totally isolated and lets you design your own character freelyThat's true, can't have any personalized story people expect if multiplayer actually is main game
>>750707635There's nothing "random" about those cyberpsychos you gonk, they're all mission related and placed in the exact same spots every playthrough. We mean they should've added a small chance of actual **random** cybernuts that can spawn literally anywhere.>>750712453>>750712765We can always hope that CDPR lean into dynamic activity with the sequel, but I wouldn't expect it. I don't know if they just don't do it because they're targeting easily impressed movie gamers who are mostly oblivious to these kind of mechanics, or if their team just lacks the skill to do it. But the fact that '2077 doesn't even have basic stuff that R* did decades ago on ps2 (like thugs dynamically stealing cars, ambulances arriving for shot NPCs etc), suggests to me that it's not something we should expect major improvements for in the sequel.
