These are the reviews for Phantom Blade Zero broken down by languages. These numbers are undeniable. It's only been out 2 days, it'll be the best selling game of the year and 90% of its numbers is China. The chinese market and its consumers are too big to ignore. Western companies HAVE TO cater to the chinese market, as well as western ones, if they really want to sell. It might take some time, years, but it's the best way forward for really big sales.
>>750692118>chinaStopped reading there, I will never ever buy a chinese game

>>750692190Thats great. The Chinese are perfectly fine when you tell them you're not part of their targeted audience. Now do that with your western industries.
>>750692118>Western companies HAVE TO cater to the chinese marketThey literally do not, maybe not have a disgusting tonal language. That could fucking help.
>>750692190Based.>>750692306Seething.
>>750692190Based.Majority of those sales cost next-to-nothing and paid for by their government. Very dishonest stuff.
Chinese play only chink game and pay half of European consumer for a game
>>750692118>Chinese people buy Chinese gameWoah, no wayYeah this totally deserved a thread
>>750692118 Steamcharts is the best advertising platform in video games. Tons of shitty Chinese games have tons of players by virtue of their population, but you retards only get so taken by the ones that happen to appear on Steam. A company like Ubisoft could bot 1 million players on one of their dogshit games and you clowns would instantly herald it as a gamechanger.
>>750692118>Western companiesFor the most part i don't care about western companies anymore, all the games i'm interested in are made in either south korea, china or japan. Gaming for me personally never required "saving" because I haven't played a western made game is almost a decade. I'm gone to asia, permanently. I'm going full ching chong nip wong gangnam style and i'm never coming back, because there's no reason to.
>>750692118There are a few reasons for this1. Nationalism, marketic for their domestic market is actively encouraged and they still consider themselves an immerging market at least in the AAA scene so they support at least the big budget one. Lack of love for the indie soulslike2. They do a local discount, compared to the usual AAA prices they do a 10% disount because of reason 1. Maybe to pad out their numbers like the Wukong release 60 dollars to the west but a bit cheaper to their yuan counterpart and their top prices are 60 in the new prices of 70/80 makes players feel like their getting a deal3. Their domestic markets do a lot of heavy lifting and do tons of collabs/crossovers with local bussinesses so If you looked in cn social you'll find them and it's insanely cheaper than the mininum 100 mil of western AAA marketing4. No culture war bullshit but they'll never have anti-ccp messaging and as an outsider idk about the ccp but it's a breath of fresh air from the usual social messaaging
>>750692190You missed the point, retard

>>750692306>Chinese are perfectly fine when you tell them you're not part of their targeted audienceYou will never have good eyesight
>>750692332how about you don't cut off the sentence? >if they really want to sell.as a market it's gotten too big to ignore. >>750692396i've also met them on japanese games. The market is accessible>>750692548I'm saying that western companies unavoidably will notice the chinese market, they can't ignore the best selling game of the year. And then they'll start making games that appeal to china too. Not ONLY chinese appeal, but ALSO CONSIDERING chinese appeal. >>750692816I think it should be possible to make games that appeal both here and there. They come out in droves for their own games, sure, but that puts them on a global platform, steam. If you release a game there, it can reach them. Western companies will notice and start making games for them too
