Most damage calculations in Souls games use "%+ Raw" amounts.

So say your attack does 100 Phys damage, and the enemy you're attacking has "25% + 50" Phys reduction. Your attack is now only doing 25 damage.
But if you increase your attack to say 150, you're now doing 62.5 damage per hit.
So despite only a 50% increase to your weapon damage numbers, your actual damage is 150% more.
