Making my party for this slop. The character creator is quite good now. How necessary is a rogue? Will a bard do? I just find rogues annoying.

Don't know the game, but aren't rogues almost always useful for their ability to disarm trap, and pick locks?

I know in combat they can be lame sometimes, but I always figured they were better for utility than raw damage.

They can offer raw damage, it's really hard to not have a rogue that can't at least shoot at stuff with a bow or crossbow.
Some subclasses like assassins are even better at delivering huge alpha strike damage via backstabs. Then there are swashbuckler rogues that can hold themselves well in 1 vs 1 fights reasonably well.
Just monitoring this thread because of a slight interest in this game

No idea. Should be doable? I went with warrior/warlock/wizard/monk and it was fine.

The game is pretty much all combat oriented there's barely any noteworthy out of combat rolls for rogues to shine in
