Maybe I am just a sucker. But Remake/Rebirth, and what has been shown of Revelation. Hasn't appealed to me at all. I hate how it's divided up between three independent games at all. That your save files and past progress/choices/accomplishments simply don't matter in the next part of the game at all. All the unnecessary and highly questionable fluff that they added just to pad out the games to justify them being independent full price releases. All the horrid compilation-series stuff that the remake games appear to lean into. And I also quite frankly do not understand their obsession with trying to action-ify the gameplay of everything. I don't really like any of it. And I very, very much prefer things like FF Resonance. Resonance is a pure joy. It's mechanically beautiful. The world is large and interesting to explore. It plays like the SNES games of old, but with new innovations akin to what you could have expected from a new iteration even back in the day. Ignoring Bravely Default, it really is the most FF to have ever FFd in at least two decades. And it is a pure joy and absolutely beautiful. Play FF Resonance! Support it! And have fun! But. As a real consumerist cuck. I now bought these two remake games. They're insanely discounted so it's not as if they're even getting much profit from me from this anyway. But now I can at least explore them a tiny bit more in depth, against my own best interest. And them being handheld on the NS2 does make that more convenient and comfortable. For real though. Why have Square Enix wasted a fucking decade on these remake games instead of just giving us FF17, F118, and FF19 already? Fuck. I hate these remakes. But now I guess I paid for them too. Even if just a little bit.
