Finished playing the first one some time ago. It was a cute game, and it had a lot of charm and vibes, but i think that's about it. I had fun with the challenges, probably the highlight of the game as a whole. The combat was whatever, wish it had more use of the gravity mechanic beyond throwing shit or dive kicking.
Likewise, i think the plot ended far too soon for my taste, like we just solved one crisis and the kids trapped in the underworld got saved, but none of the major plot points (like the creators, the time displaced couple or who kat is) got resolutions. Still, i think its a comfy 6/10.
Hope 2 has more polish and more 'stuff' in it.

What you see in That part where cyanea makes you do this weird cube hallucination puzzle section is pretty crucial, also think back to the opening scene with the apple on the tree and what kind of scenery is surrounding it.

iirc it was a world of layers. So as a comparison reference,TotK, it has like 5 layers in the sky ground, then underworld. GR was like that, not that many layers but it was like a layer of different playable areas spread out vertically and horizontally which made the game overly complicated.
Makes sense why they did it, because of the gravity system so falling up/down looked better than falling horizontally but it was really not fun to traverse.
A "normal" game that wanted to do that would only have 1 horizontal plane and a series of playable areas, hubs.
Imagine large islands on an ocean. WW, AC4BF for example.

The UI in the emu is a little convoluted but you essentially just set up a per-game configuration for gr2 , check all the settings like "enable shadnet" and "console is online" , then you enter your shadnet ID and password, and finally add the DNS for the gr2 fan server....

Treasure hunting and pic sharing are the most common, I haven't been seeing many challenges or races or ghosts.

Really love looking at the enviroments and stuff though so if you like cooling through a cool looking city and posing with your gravity powers it can still be a decent game for you.
