>retains and fosters in-house talent
>has enough money to create big games
>is willing to alienate certain audiences to create something unique
Nintendo is the only vidya company that does all three

Shadow of the Colossus if it looked awful

The blood moon was so awesomely creepy at first. I wish something actually scary happened during blood moons, like some OP enemy starts stalking you in the wild until the sun rises.

Fucking loved the gloom hands for that. They spawn out of nowhere and the blood moon goes into effect as they scream and bull rush you to death. Probably the single best enemy in any Zelda game.
>TFW you kill them and then phantom ganon spawns
>You manage to kill him and he drops unique weapons found nowhere else with cool effects
11/10

>why is Nintendo so goodd at art direction
inversely proportional to how good they are in gameplay design

Are they?

OK, that does sound like a really cool improvement over BotW.

kek, I remember how disappointed I was that the Blood Moon was just a mob reset and actually became a common occurrence.
That being said, the imagery of it is nothing compared to the Moon Presence's descent from Bloodborne. Not to mention BB has good combat and enemies that try and, you know, actually kill you. Fuck Nintendo. Wii Sports had a higher difficulty curve than BotW/TotK.

>he Blood Moon was just a mob reset and actually became a common occurrence
That is a perfect illustration of the game design as a whole. It is all incredibly shallow, and a fuckton of wasted potential.
the only reason normies and tendies glaze botw/totk so much is because nintendo pretends they invented open-world games

I almost dropped BotW when I realized blood moon does virtually fucking nothing, it just respawns enemies that would respawn anyway. It was the last time I trusted these imbeciles, so many retarded gameplay design decisions in a single game, they literally are incapable of doing anything but rehashing bing bing wahoo for 40 years.

>tendies cum in their diapers over gta san andreas tier sunsets while everyone else gets to enjoy actually competent art direction

Look at all that anti-soul fog.

Too much focus on disgusting HD graphics. Even Minecraft has better graphical direction.

So ugly lmao

Japanese artists learn to create art. Western artists are weird freaks who make abomination and call themselves "artists"

>inbreeding for years
>no backend capabilities, no infra, no solid networking talent, literally cannot fix smash so retards with no source access have to fix online play which makes tendies seethe
>Even the one thing they do well, single player experiences, is deprioritized this generation, we have no new mario, no new zelda, just 3rd party remakes with beloved IP as the last keystones crumble
Yeah they are really doing it. Cant' wait to play shitty new zelda in yuzu2
