Creator of mega man has broken his silence in a groundbreaking new interview:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZWdJ61tc0U&t=11s
because money
Summarize for me please. I imagine it's because no game is made by one man and Capcom has the best development teams.
>>750913394>Creator of mega manMaybe not lying would make game development easier Conman
The businessman who pretends to have invented Megaman got found out???
>>750913394
>>750913394What happened to his NEEEEEEECK
>>750913981i can still hear it.
>>750913981with ai slop mods taking off, a MMX4 mod with this in mind could work.>Conman>Dinaman>Beckman>etc
>>7509137231. The Reality of Independence After CapcomThe "Capcom Umbrella": Both creators reflect on how being at Capcom provided a sheltered, supportive creative environment backed by past corporate prestige. Once independent, past success only goes so far, and the lack of corporate safety nets acts as a harsh reality check.Lack of Management Expertise: Inafune notes that a major reason his independent company (Comcept) struggled to produce major hits was a fundamental lack of proper business management. Creative work takes center stage, but business acumen, contract management, and handling non-creative operations are equally critical.2. Team Dynamics & Financial PressuresResource and Team Management: Okamoto shares that managing multiple smaller teams led to fragmented focus and internal company politics ("factionalism" from people coming from different companies like Sega or Square Enix), which he lacked the authority or structure to fully control. The Impact of the Lehman Shock: Inafune details a massive 1.7 billion yen unpaid debt crisis during the 2008 financial crash when a major client fell through. This forced painful downsizing, salary cuts, and the departure of top talent—creating a vicious cycle where capable staff left while those with fewer options stayed behind, increasing the burden on the remaining team.So the so-called businessman was actually shit at business???
>>750914713>Lack of Management Expertise: Inafune notes that a major reason his independent company (Comcept) struggled to produce major hits was a fundamental lack of proper business management. What a retard. INAFUNE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THAT! He was giving interviews to 4gamer saying how easy running Comcept would be, since he was in charge of hundreds of employees at Capcom, and Comcept was like 10% of that. >>750914713>So the so-called businessman was actually shit at business???There was a book released like a bit over a decade ago, where it interviewed Japanese game devs. There was some drama about the translation, which overshadowed the actual book. But part of the book was talking to an employee at Comcept, and in the interview he announced his intention to quit the company, and that he hadn't even told Inafune this yet. This was a guy with years of experience in the industry. I read that as him realizing Comcept was a shit show so he wanted out.
>>750914863A shame really, Soul Sacrifice Delta ended up being a solid game but that was basically the only noteworthy thing they produced.
conman
>>750913394just realizes CAPCOM in katakana is written KAPUKON. Kon... Con... Keiji Inafune... coin is dents?
>>750913394>conman breaks his silence
decade of the japanese auteur is fucking overmany of them are senile old fucks and they are too expensive to keep around by publishers
>>750920165A lot of them outright sold out, or they just ask for too much budget. FF7 devs clearly still have talent, but Kitase specifically just sold out and is on businessman auto-pilot (ironic since FF7 Rebirth is a sales disaster). Inafune was also a genuine moron.
>>750914713It's funny /v/ could have said the same things, AND ON TOP OF THAT could have said as much in 2013. Why didn't Conman come to /v/ for business advice?
>>750914713Knew it before I even read it. People who say corporations are bad for games are pure retards. Corporate management is an extremely important part of holding these people on a leash so something resembling competence can be created at the end.
>>750914713Figured he was a hack
>>750921158It sounds more like Inafune is a really bad manager and can't manage projects. Most of the Comcept games were disasters for a reason. If Inafune had talent, he would have been able to replicate good management at a smaller scale.
