And I heard you guys got the best or "hardcore" taste in games. I have a pretty good gaming PC, and I'm open to emulating, besides my Xbox Series X here. I'm open to getting recommended PC games alongside console games. It doesn't matter how old it is. If it's fun, it's fun. I'm a pretty big action guy, just so you know.

pacman 2 the new adventures for super nintendo start with that then come back for a new game once you beat it
>>
Not sure what kind of action you are into but maybe try emulating the SNES (and the NES)?
It has great games and best of all, you can use your keyboard for all the inputs since there is no analog stick on the SNES controller.
I would definitely recommend Super Metroid. It's amazing and pretty accessible (also doesn't drag on for a long time)
The emulator most people (including myself) use is Snes9x. It's been around forever and it has Linux versions.

Feeling good today because I just found out I'll have a cozy job starting next year so here is not simply a spoonfeed, this is the whole pie, here is the game reccs:
https://vsrecommendedgames.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page

And how to run them
https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Main_Page

As for emulation, my setup is
BigPEmu
Cemu (as soon as someone do a proper Wind Waker PC recompilation with mods, this thing will become useless)
citra-qt (might be a better alternative out there)
Dolphin
EK2LI
Infuse
KEmulator
MAME
PCSX2
PPSSPP
Ryujinx (might be a better alternative out there)
TeknoParrotUI
Vita3K
xemu
xenia

This should cover pratty much every case ever, my PC is not powerful enough to handle PS4 emulation, which I don't mind for now since it needs more developing anyway.

Play MGQ Paradox, Fuga Melodies of Steel, and uhhh Rimworld. Dishonored is good too, a stealth action game done right. Warframe if you like fast, fluid movement with MMO elements and cool weapons to grind for. Risk of Rain 2 if you like rougelikes that ramp up your destructive capabilities over time and only have a couple hours to spare. SOMA if you're into horror and a good story, one of my favorites. Bloodborne is really good as well, but you'll have to jump through some hoops to get it set up on PC.

I wanted to post spongebob tripping a pie into squidward face then a nuclear bomb explode, but that was too heavy.

A bit of a correction, use Dolphin standalone, the Retroarch core is always outdated and I only have it because I once tried to run some Wii and GC games at the same time.

Yeah... This kinda encapsulates the rebirth and death of console gaming after the first videogame crash....

You tinker trannies don't even like playing games. Just the act of getting all your bullshit setup is the game for you. You've become so burnt out on gaming you try to relive your childhood through emulators and modded hardware. And when your game boots up, you'll play for 10 minutes realizing its dogshit only to do it all over again.

>childhood through emulators and modded hardware
Except that my childhood was... well, pretty much everything a kid could ask for EXCEPT cable TV and gaming consoles. There was a PC at home but I wouldn't know how to use it properly until middle school, now I have ALL of the games at the reach of my fingertips to play whenever I want.

Say what you will about the current state of gaming, it's nowhere near as bad as cable TV or it's modern streaming equivalents, cartoons specially, nowadays I torrent anime and maybe some animal documentaries, I'm not paying for this crap.

Good to have you, I'll list off some of my favorite games and game series in no particular order and give you some details.

>Deus Ex
Amazing series of first person WRPGs. They have amazing story and lore, and very open ended gameplay that allows you to tackle every objective in cool and interesting ways. The first game is the best, but the prequels are also good.
>Xenogears
One of the best JRPGs ever made. It has an incredible storyline, and the gameplay isn't half bad either. The second half of the game is pretty blatantly unfinished due to time/money constraints, but even in its current state the game is a masterpiece.
>Sonic the Hedgehog
I don't think Sonic needs much introduction. If you're not already familiar with the series, I recommend playing 1-3&K, CD and Mania. The Advent games are also KINO.
>Mega Man
Classic series of 2D platformer games. They're the difficult enough to put up a good challenge without being so hard you get discouraged. The classic series is very good, but my favorite games are X1-5 and Zero 1-4.
>Earthbound
It's a classic JRPG set in 20th century America. They're very fun and heartfelt little games with amazing music. Mother 3 is the best but to get the full effect you need to play Mother 2/Earthbound first.
>Doom
The eternal king of the FPS genre. The original two are my favorite but the whole series is fantastic.
>Metal Gear Solid
Imagine a James Bond movie directed by an insane Japanese man. That's what these games are like. The MGS series has an amazing story and gameplay. I will warn you, the cutscenes in these games are very long, but the story is good enough to justify them and the gameplay that is there is very fun.
>Cavestory
These days, indie pixel Metroidvenia games are pretty common, but Cavestory was the first and in my mind still the best. The gameplay is fantastic and the story is much better than you would expect. The original version is free, but there's a paid remake on Steam.
>>
>>750916659
get Gal Guardians: Demon Purge, Mega Man and Castlevania
>>
>>750920140
>Silent Hill
Fantastic series of atmospheric horror games. Only play the orignal 1-4, everything beyond that is shit.
>Metroid
The origin of the Metroidvenia genre. All the mainline games are very good (except Prime 4 and Other M). My favorites are Prime 2 and Super.
>Ninja Gaiden
It started off as a series of platformer action games for the NES, then became a hard-core 3D action game in the style of DMC. They're all very fun and very challenging. If you're super hard-core about action games they're a must play. My favorite is the original Xbox 360 version of 2.
>Fromsoft
I don't really think this company or it's work needs any introduction, but if you love hard-core games and haven't played them yet then you really should. My favorites are Bloodborne and Sekiro.
>Splinter Cell
It's like a more grounded version of MGS. It has some of the best feeling and playing stealth gameplay I've ever experienced. They're all good, but the first game and Chaos Theory are the best.
>Metal Slug
A series of 2D run and gun games for Arcades. They're super hard, but very fun. The visuals are also fantastic, some of the best 2D sprite art I've ever seen in any game.
>Castlevania
Half the series are tough as nails linear platformers, the othe half are non-linear exploration games. Both are good. My favorites are 4, Rondo of Blood and Aria of Sorrow.

>And I heard you guys got the best or "hardcore" taste in games.
Fake news. The /v/irgins here only play gachagoonslop.
>>
>>750920470
>Ace Combat
It's like MGS with planes. The gameplay is very fast and arcade like, it's not a realistic flight sim at all. The lore is cool and the music is 10/10 S-tier amazing.
>Half Life
A classic FPS series with great atmosphere. It completely revolutionized FPS games and they all still hold up well. Just a warning, the 2nd game ends on a cliffhanger and there's no telling if they'll ever make a 3rd game.
>Resident Evil
Half the series is slow paced horror, half the series is fast paced action, most have a balance of the two. They're mostly all very fun. The orignal 4 and Requiem are my favorites.
>Dead Space
Like RE4 in space. The first two games are amazing. The 3rd is a bit of a letdown.
>Devil May Cry
Super over the top action series series with fun characters, SSS-tier combat and blood pumping music. They're all great (except 2).
>Chrono Trigger
Amazing JRPG for the SNES. It's considered by many to be perfect, and I find it hard to disagree. Every element, from the story to the artwork to the music are a genuine 10/10.
>>
>>750921163
>Max Payne
They have the slow mo action of a John Wu movie with the story and atmosphere of a noir crime drama. Super fun.
>F.E.A.R
Amazing FPS series with incredible gunplay and enemy AI. The guns are super satisfying and the slow mo is very fun to mess with. The 2nd and 3rd games are disappointing though.
>Final Fantasy
The most famous JRPG series besides mabey Pokémon. 1-10 are mostly beloved, the games beyond that tend to be more divisive. 6 and 7 are the best.

Those are all the major ones I could think of off the top of my head. I hope this helps you find something you enjoy. Take care and happy gaming. I hope you come to enjoy this passion of mine as much as I do.
