There's a platform above it shaped vaguely like a diving board. You just jump off the platform on to the web and it breaks

Why can't millenials just admit that they were born and raised at a time where developing critical thinking was not only easier, but necesary for navigating the world during the advent of technology and that younger generations, growing up with technology that's easier to use and designed for less developed minds, didn't need to adapt and as such aren't as capable?

This. When boomers complain that zoomers dont know how to do something, its because zoomers DONT HAVE to know how to do it anymore. 95% of clocks are digital now, handwriting itself is essentially obsolete, much less cursive writing, they carry a phone 24/7 so theres no need to remember directions, phone numbers, etc. anymore. The more things you forget how to do on your own, the dumber you become in general. This isn't a meme, it's scientifically proven. By making things more convenient and automatic to get things done quicker we're ironically making ourselves less capable as human beings.

I remember comedians in the late 90s trying to convince people that your average conservative on the street couldn't find America on a world map or handle basic arithmetic. That's when the left became obsessed with the idea that non-leftists are stupid.

The level of problem solving and reflexes needed for some of these games is on par with what's needed to handle basic tasks like driving, finding the grocery store, finding your keys, filling out paperwork, etc. The simplest explanation is sampling bias, probably deliberate in a lot of cases to drum up attention and possibly get funding. No other living generation strikes me as being dumber than the television generation, the boomers.
>65 IQs can't-.
This isn't the way that the discussion is framed at all.
>>
>>751070731
Of course. But nowadays that incapability isnt a disadvantage, its just a fact of life. We're never going to go back to a pre-cell phone, pre-internet society where the total lack of independence zoomers have would actually affect them negatively
>>

Wait you REALLY can't have 2 different items assigned at the same time? You HAVE to use the BoTW/ToTK time freeze scrolling menu to switch items every single time? And this is the game where they also removed the need for a different button by making target and shield share a button? Why???

Im honestly not sure this is entirely the fault of zoomers.
>>
>>751071201
Navi says something like "springy" as you walk over the web. It deforms showing that it just about handles your weight. When you jump from the lower platform, one that wouldn't kill you, you're hinted that it's almost there and the web deforms more. That jump is the end of the path and even gives a button prompt.
There's multiple steps that bring the player to a conclusion that jumping is how they break through.

Unrelated but I don't like puzzles that don't show you all the pieces or it's not explicitly stated or shown that you can even solve it yet. I'm fine with figuring out a puzzle when I know what's all involved. I don't want to have to figure out what a puzzle piece is or if I have everything needed or not.

For example, if you have arrange 5 statues to open some kind of ancient door, but apparently the statues had to be enchanted first by some other character you have to bring along, you needed some ancient amulet you get later in the story. Something stupid that will cause you to waste time arranging shit over and over again that you couldn't have possibly solved.

The closest example I can think of in a LoZ game is in Wind Waker. When you're fighting the boss in the volcano you're supposed to grapple the dragon's tail, but you're not in range to do that at ground level. iirc the game didn't point out the platforms above that would put you in range.

It’s actually a fair question because physics didn’t exist in video games until 2000

“Springy” part would help, walking over it and seeing it deform not so much, there are games that have details like this that does not mean it would automatically hold true gameplay wise. The lower jump runs into the same issue as the top jump in that people are trained not to jump off ledges in games unless it’s the only obvious option forward like a tunnel for example

nice try jeet but your lie is too obvious and your izzat is in the negatives
your family will have to pay that debt across multiple generations

They're not opposing views, they're both solid facts. There is nothing that necessitates kids these days learning critical thinking. However they are capable of learning critical thinking and should be challenged to do so. However they also ultimately gain nothing in doing so given the current progressing trends.

Yes, Twitter was never botted. Now, turn around and say death to Israel.
>>
If a 4 year old could figure this out 20 years ago there's no excuse for an adult to have trouble today. Individuals are just stupid sometimes.
>>
>>751069691
>Zoomzooms admit that they're subhuman non-sapient drones incapable of thinking
Is this what the kids call a flex
>>
>>751073015
You can sequence break to get morph and bombs early, though, and they even programmed in unique animations during the Kraid fight for if you did.

>Individuals
So true, ZOG-kun.
>>
>>751075739
Would you fail this puzzle because this person did? Are you a hivemind? Or is it more likely they are retarded
>>
Zoomers and gen alpha are retards that need yellow paint to survive IRL.
Curse vishnu btw.

This is some lame engagement bait
>>
>>751075814
I'm just commenting on your choice of words, nothing more.
>>

a child would just keep playing and mess around and eventually find what to do
this guy thinks he knows the solution and then gets mad that the game doesn't hand it to him

Manchildren never grew up.

that the first web in the game, you don't get taught that they burn until you progress past there
if you played the game, you might have known that
>>
>>751068462
>walk into the very first room of the the dungeon
>see hole with web
>"ah yes, this must be the exit"
>can't get past the web
>ignore the rest of the room and give up
>>
Imagine zoomers playing portal >.<
>>
I never want to hear tendies complain about yellow paint again, when they can't even beat a 30 year old N64 game without handholding and constant hints.
>>

That's not "both" presented views, that's simply the latter. You believe that our age of convenience makes critical thinking a passe notion.
Just because you think younger people COULD have their problem solving skills cultivated through challenges doesn't mean you think they SHOULD.
>they also ultimately gain nothing in doing so
So from you're point of view, inserting challenge into a video game is an archaic force of habit.
>>
>>751069739
Harder access to video games back then meant you could have fun with anything, and games could be made harder / more challenging even for kids because you had the time and motivation to break them
Nowadays a game that takes too long to engage you is dead on arrival, there's so much to choose from

I actually wonder how they are going to handle the saving system if they ever remake it.
>>
>>751069691
does it change the fact that zoomers are retarded or just excuse it?
>>
>>751069264
This would probably make me second guess myself too.
Instead of just taking the fastest route back down after exploring the upper platforms, I'd be like
>Oh fuck, is it a fatal drop from here?
>>
man every new game release is like that now huh? full of retarded niggers posting their shit on xitter and baiting to get likes and replies and zoomers think it's all real and parrot the same shit IRL without thinking. It's so tiresome.
>>
>>751067830
Does the web at least wobbles when you walk on it? I also feel like it was an anintuitive design
>>
>>751076787
wobbles like a motherfucker, at least on the original
>>
>>751068046
you have to buy the Break The Web amiibo to continue
in the N64 days you needed a code from nintendo power
