They're like, "this dialogue would be better like this for this target market, so we're gonna change it," and as a result they made things worse for the very target market they're trying to appeal to. Like Trey's trauma retcon, I will never get over that one.
I've never seen anyone talk about how Sebebe will argue with Malleus but concede instantly to the same command when it's from Lilia but it's so interesting. He might be obsessed with his dragonprince but even Sebek is conscious of the weird Lilia/Malleus hierarchy going on. That might be a future king but Lilia is the fairy godfather war veteran favored by Mel herself and he will be respected as such goddammit.
