Andy down. Hey, that was pretty alright, I expected worse from reactions ITT. Predictable setup, finale is a little weird, but for once a humor heavier AFMV didn't turn me off. Game has some technical issues, like hammering my GPU if I let it run uncapped and some Linux related hurdles that no one here cares about, but it was worth it.
Also, gonna get some good mileage out of this one.

Video quality is ok, filmography is mediocre but audio is clear, not helped by a loop of cheery white noise background music. This seems competently coded for an AFMV, for example you get to select a language and resolution on first boot and I don't need the specific Proton for video codecs to play this on Linux which is a first for me. And that is all the good I have to say about it.On every choice, the video gets cut off with a fade-out and you're sent to this screen with a static photo, feels really awful.None of the choices do anything in this demo. Your character is not voiced.Very little content, you're given a very shallow description on the girls.Your only keyboard shortcuts are space to open the side menu, then you have to select buttons with the mouse anyway. You can't even back away from the menu without the mouse. There's some sort of generic thought bubble dispenser thing on the left you can press when the game is paused? And THAT lets you press the 1, 2, 3 and 4 keys. Seems completely pointless. Inputs tend to change from the demo, but terrible first impression regardless.The history button, I shit you not, brings up an old school VN log of text. You are allowed free skipping but no rewind at all, or are able to check the story branch until the end of the demo, and even that seems like a crude placeholder (see next post). There doesn't seem to be anything going for this unless you want uncomfortable JAV-like closeups of hot japanese girls but without the nudity and the mosaic censorship.

Hold on, I was wrong. I had to skip the final cutscene because the video froze on me but that second nondescript node that looks exactly like the footage I just watched is actually jumping ahead. Game did the whole 'I was taken outside my body, I can see the timeline' spiel (also not voiced), then I got the blandest gravure film of the girl putting on pantyhose but the choices still didn't do anything and I got truck-kun'd again trying to save her, for another long, long exposition on game mechanics with a mystery voice. I was then forced to replay that node only with narration showing awareness. So far I feel more like a tiny ghost commenting on their mundane daily lives than a hamster, next to no effort went into being convincing with this POV. This MC is too talkative to not be voiced and those long stretches of silence as the bland 20s long BGM loop are getting embarrassing. Had my first failure state with the girl at the top, but then the voiceless MC described the outcome instead of showing me, while another minute of staring at video footage of the timeline, this padding is getting absurd. Such weird design.
Yeah, this is really bad. Lifeless gravure delivery vehicle, except there's no payoff because it keeps happening and no connection because I don't know these characters and I keep (not) hearing about them in 3rd person. Every scene is functionally the same with the girl going "teehee you remind me of my childhood friend who did this" and then you squeak to bring their attention. The "choices" you're offered are prefaced by the MC stating what would be bad, and then you get to decide between self-indulgence and what he just said. Japan needs an emergency cultural exchange, they don't understand modern FMV.

You guys won't believe this, but the FMV delayed for 5 months abruptly ends on its second act. Can't even call that nothing AI drawing slideshow a sequel or DLC bait, setting off to Umbrella HQ in a car while narration goes over how the girls "changed" even though you already had scenes showcasing that, nothing else at all. I expected weak, bad, unsatisfying, rushed, but outright packing up and leaving? Holy shit.Oh, and the romance? Basically all from the archer girl, spending most of the first act in a lockdown with her, nothing particularly romantic happening as she just grows attached and then catty when your MILF neighbor shows up. The other two just develop feelings for you within 4 scenes at most for no reason. Somehow despite laser focusing on archer girl, I did not meet the reqs for her "good" romance conclusion. And I use the term very loosely, it's a tiny scene in a tent.Lots of distracting AI inserts which ramp up as it goes, the older kind where the background freezes and the slop then spergs out.Diceroll, as expected, is a failure of game design, so much so that the "final boss" action sequence just gives you 6 extra dices during footage. The negative outcomes are 99% sudden death, and very half-assed raw cut ones at that. They tried to give it some depth with perks acquired by cheevo currency on AI drawings of the girls (because who wants real photos of them), but the bonus are insignificant. Bonuses and debuffs gained from decisions are little more than proof of concept, as failure mostly leads to game over.There was one occasion where it seemed the game was dropping a hard choice on your lap with strong ties to the narrative, but it turned out to be a failure state. The other branching I found so far is insignificant.MTL is bad. I'd say a good 8% of lines are gibberish, lots of 'brother' and 'sister' left to clean up. Chapter 4 is just broken in translation, as are notes.Downgrading my May score from 6 to 5, hoowee.
