They are mostly placed near the races you need to complete for your convenience. I have a bit of a concerning discovery.So, if you guys have been following information about the game's optimization and graphics settings, you might have seen multiple sources say and show that if you have a 8GB VRAM gpu, the game runs a lot worse unless you use High Textures and Geometry (which look like total unplayable garbage) due to a lack of VRAM. This felt very weird to me because on my 3070ti, when running ultra textures and geometry at 1080p, my performance got killed compared ot high textures and geometry even though on ultra my VRAM was peaking at 7.1 at max, and I regularly play games that peak at 7.8 without any perf issues or stutters. And on this setup FH5 ran perfectly for me without any vram issues at EXTREME textures and geometry. So I did some investigating myself.It turns out that in the game's user config file for the graphics and video modes, you can de-couple the texture setting from the geometry setting and run each one at whatever setting you like. So I decided to test running textures at High and geometry at Ultra.In game, my VRAM was very low, not going above 6 GBs of usage at any point no matter the scenario.....however, my average framerate was much lower than running on High textures and Geometry, despite the fact that with this custom config, my GPU did not show any rise in resource usage, be it VRAM or wattage, meaning that my pc wasn't struggling with loading in more geometry, I handed the same config setup over to a friend with a 12gb GPU, and they had no perf issues and also saw no rise in vram usage.I don't want to seem pesimistic, but I think they're intentionally killing 8GB Vram performance to force people to buy newer cards. A few games have already been caught doing this like Monster Hunter Wilds which nerfs your graphics and your fps if ur on a 8GB card for no reason, and if u get a mod that removes that stuff, the game runs great. Same situation happened in the new lego batman game and more.
