Stella Sora's VN segments are really nice because they take the time to script them and devote a lot of dev time to making assets for the story. It's not a new technology, you can make this kind of thing in any VN engine right now. Mobile games have always treated their VN presentation as an afterthought (thought it is getting better) at best so what Yostar is doing here goes against the industry standard. For instance, type moon developed Mahoyo which has probably the most impressive scripting of any VN ever, and to this day FGO's VN segments are pathetic. It's not because they don't know how to make a really good looking VN it, just isn't part of the business model.
